Like many others on here having bloods taken results in heavy bruising, after taking steroids for a number of years my skin is paper thin, so at my latest session last week I was resigned to this happening again , but at the clinic there was a new nurse in attendance who noticed some bruising from knocks that I had , after telling her about the steroids she suggested I ask for a thin needle in future { she used one} didn't feel a thing and no bruising after it, I didn't know about thin needles nobody ever mentioned this before will certainly ask in future.

My endo nurse said to ask for a butterfly tube instead of a cannula but another nurse said they're too expensive.
I'm on steroids for life so I know what you mean. You can get some right corkers.
What I discovered by accident was, before I injected the steroid, I had a hot shower and I found it relax's the muscles with no bruising or pain. It might work or it could be the placebo affect, but I've continued doing it that way
That's really good to know. I can't tell you how many skin tears I get. I haven't had issues with bad bruising so far but if I do I'll ask for a thin needle.
