steroids after a fall…
hi, I had a fall a few days ago, nothing broken but as the days go on I’m extremely stiff and sore on my upper body. I’m especially bad at night when laying down and the pain is at it’s worse. I’m taking painkillers (co-codamol) that work for a while till they wear off….Would anyone know if increasing

Can steroids treat FND?
Hello, I’m Louise and I was diagnosed with FND in May 2021 by a neuropsychiatrist after developing tonic, clonic and myoclonic jerks in my right arm and leg which happens every 30 seconds or so, as well as limb posturing and tremors intermittently but several times an hour. I have joint and muscle

Steroid-based inhaler warning
**Moderator note to anyone reading: if you have similar concerns please speak to a medical professional - don't stop your steroid inhaler or any other steroids if you're worried about adrenal insufficiency. It's dangerous for both adrenals and asthma.**

CARPEL TUNNEL
Hi, wonder if anyone has any tips on severe carpel tunnel pain during the night early morning. I wear splint at night but when 3 fingers on right hand go numb ( can’t bend them) pain starts right to elbow. I have put frozen peas from freezer on wrist /hand which initially makes pain worse but eventually

Allergy to heparin
I have had a port for over three years now. I have had no issues at all with it until yesterday. I had bloods done and it was accessed as usual , but when the nurse put in the heparin lock I had an acute allergic reaction. It was almost instantaneous. I got a terrible fright as I felt I was burning up

Kudos to GP for studying PMR
Saw internist yesterday to discuss latest blood test. Sed rate at 33, dehydration and low white blood count. I’ll take it. But it was obvious he has been “boning” up on PMR, adrenal insufficiency, proper and slow way to reduce steroids. All in all, it was almost as if he had been on this site

The Rheumatology Saga Continues!
UPDATE..... Was offered an NHS Rheumatologist appointment today due to a late cancellation and I thought I'd take it rather than wait until February to see my Benenden Rheumatologist. I met a Dr Chung and he was absolutely lovely.....spent 45 mins running me through everything and checking my results

I was diagnosed with PMR 3 months ago. My starting dose of Pred was 20mg which caused my blood pressure to go up. Since then I have been taking 7.5mg and following an anti inflammatory diet and my inflammation is now normal and pain under control. Lately I have been experiencing slight headaches and

I have Addison disease and had to take steroids for this. I have developed osteoporosis and my doctor want me to start the evenity shots. I am very concerned about the safety of this drug.

Any advice for gastro symptoms which respond to steroids, but no diagnosis? Does normal colonoscopy cover the small bowel?
hi all, I hope it's ok to post here - I don't have a diagnosis of crohn's or colitis but am looking for information. I'm diagnosed coeliac (6+ years ago) and autoimmune hypothyroid, with ongoing and increasing gastro symptoms - the main problem being that I feel extremely unwell like I've got flu

Switching from T3 to T4
I've been on T3 only for almost 15 years, on levo before that. Kept having hypo symptoms despite high dosage of levo and my RT3 went through the roof (which most endos pooh-pooh away), so my dr at the time advised me to have a go at T3, for a short while. After some time I was told to go on dessicated

Overdoing it?
Between starting Steroids in July 2023 and going on holiday in November I had put on a stone and got sluggish and I was still tired and inactive. Three weeks' warm sunshine and some peace and quiet and I lost half a stone and got to regularly swimming a mile a day and clocking 10,000 steps. I dropped

feeling depressed for no reason.
Sorry to bother you all again, but I am feeling very low and feel like crying, but there is nothing wrong with me. I went to M&S this morning and the salvation army were playing seasonal carols, I just felt overwhelmed with sadness. My neighbour is on end of life care and I am trying to be supportive
