Bile duct dilation due to steroids

Please can anyone tell me if this can happen with use of steroids.

I went to A and E with chest pain, since been diagnosed with hiatus hernia the very latest in the long line of issues.

they did a CT scan and came back with nothing other than Intra and extrahepatic bile duct dilation with no cause seen.

SO could this be due to the steroids I am taking, or as they had been pumping me with antibiotics due to those.

All blood tests and liver tests btw came back as normal.

Now awaiting endoscopy and mri scan.

Sorry I can't answer your bile duct dilation question but sorry to hear about the hiatus hernia. My husband was diagnosed with one after a similar trip to A&E, the pain when it occurs is excruciating

I think it is unlikely it is due to pred or antibiotics - there are many other risk factors including simply being over 60!

is about incidentally detected bile duct dilation - and you are having the imaging required to rule out any of the usual causes. The CT already shows there is probably little of concern.
