Osteoarthritis in knee
Now I am no chicken but these
steroid
injections
do they put you out when doing it, or do they just freeze the area and am guessing when this wears off you will it hurt even more. Can anyone tell me please what this will entail as am a bit of a worrying kind of person.

Swollen knees
I have had several
steroid
injections
in my knees over the years. I used to have the fluid drained off but that stopped as no one could get any out of the knee itself any more. My Rheumatologist then started taking fluid from a side area which no one else has ever done.

Mirena Coil Side Effects
I have been prescribed naproxen, strong ibuprofen, strong cocodamol, amitryptyline, and have had 2
steroid
injections
3 weeks apart into the shoulder. On top of that, around 2 months ago I started to get double vision and shadowing in my right eye. I am also still having this.

Does anyone know what the eligibility is to have it under pain as I’ve tried
steroid
injections
and that hasn’t worked and I’m currently on high dose medication which I want to come off as they could be damaging my kidneys .

Pelvic pain may be entrapped nerves
. 😍 I have had 2
steroid
injections
for diagnostic purposes and then at two separate times had two nerves ablated / burnt off. Cutanous and inguinal nerves. Now in recovery 7 weeks later. Pain is improving slowly.

I could have PMR…
The doctor said the
steroid
injections
last up to 3 months. A light bulb moment. This really could be PMR then?!!! Last 2 nights I have been having night sweats around my neck like I did last time. Do you lovely people think I have PMR?

Does RA exist in the hips?
I have had
steroid
injections
in the past just to help me through a difficult period. He said that I didn't need that as the inflammation is being controlled. They have really helped me in the past and I was very upset.

Pes Anserine Bursitis - steroid injection offered.
When I asked why this had not fully responded to Pred he said, “Sometimes these things need an extra dose of
steroid
more locally.” I know these
injections
don’t always work but I am very worn down by the pain and hope that it will be effective.

Dreading seeing the Rheumatologist
I asked if I could have
steroid
injections
because I knew I tolerated them better. He almost laughed at me saying surely you get the same side effects? I said no I didn’t. Anyway, he also said I didn’t have PMR because I was too young - 52, my PMR started at 49.

When the drugs don’t work
Various
steroid
injections
have failed. The local pain management team conducted a couple of procedures on her knee using cryotherapy and radio therapy, but none have offered any relief. The pain killers don’t work, and what little quality of life she has is rapidly deteriorating.

Tinnitus and Meniere's
Has anyone ever received Intratympanic steroid injection in their ear(s) for Tinnitus or Meniere's? I was just curious if it was worth it and made matters better. Is the injection painful or create other issues? My ENT has recommended it for my left ear which has a variety of issues. Thanks.

Finally a little light!
Many of you have been kind in giving me advice and support over the last year, especially when I was 'wading through treacle'. A few weeks ago I had another steroid injection and leflunomide added to my MTX. I hardly dare say this but I'm actually starting to feel better. My joints have gone down so
