First appointment at St Thomas'
Well folks, the day has arrived, I'm off to see the Pain Service at St Thomas' this afternoon for assessment. They will be assessing whether I am a candidate for Spinal Cord Stimulation ( SCS) and I'm at that jangly and overwhelmed place of really not wanting to go, not having the stomach for yet more

At long last
Pete has his operation date for his spinal cord stimulator to be fitted at long last. After waiting for almost 2 years he is to go into Southampton Hospital on Wednesday 20th May. I now just have to keep him well and hope all will be fine. Thanks to all who have followed this saga. Stay well all. xxx

Spinal cord stimulation
Hi, I need advice on who to contact in the nhs to be put forward for spinal cord stimulation. I am not a confident person and am worried I would be turned down and not have the knowledge to back myself up with knowledge and facts to show I should be considered. I don't know anyone who has had this done

Hi! Tried to update profile twice. Does HealthUnlocked not like iPads or does iPad not like HealthUnlocked? Anyhoo..... Here for the same reasons as the rest! I have early "annoying" symptoms, but not life changing at the moment. I did start Azilect 0.5mg about 3 weeks ago hoping to help the Micrographia

Muscle spasms
Hi there, I've had major spinal surgery about 11 months ago, with a lot of metalware now holding my back stable, and I was thinking these muscle spasms and stretching are due to this but I'm so confused. I've been having these horrible spasm attacks day and night and I have to keep stretching my whole

Symptoms and recovery
Good morning , hope everyone is having better weather than we are today, it's snowing and miserable. Looking for some advice again, everyone here is so nice and very helpful, I'm recovering from spinal surgery, and it's not going to well, initially after my surgery I was doing ok then I had a setback

Most of you will know that I've had multiple

fusion
. Waiting for an appointment at Guys & St Thomas's for assessment for SCS I've not been formally diagnosed but have been told by GP and Osteo that I have all the features of EDs - the hypermobility type.

surgery in my lower back (they had to go through the stomach). I was off work but had been taking time off work anyway for a list of other problems - from migraines, fatigue, extreme brain fog etc.

Peter's health
Pete is not doing so well today, he seems to be choking a lot and producing excessive amounts of nasty sticky mucous. He does have his back up antibiotics but hopefully they will not be needed. He feels he bumbles from one thing to another but tries to remain cheerful. The back problem is seemingly being

Spinal Cord Stimulation
I need to recharge… Following the unsuccessful procedure I underwent at the end of November (Stellate Ganglion injections), my consultant from the pain clinic presented the future options, one of which had never been indicated before. I hadn’t really been listening to what he was saying until my ears
