Good morning , hope everyone is having better weather than we are today, it's snowing and miserable. Looking for some advice again, everyone here is so nice and very helpful, I'm recovering from spinal surgery, and it's not going to well, initially after my surgery I was doing ok then I had a setback and had to go back to hospital, for the past three weeks I have really struggled, I am not sleeping, whereas normally I had no problems with sleeping , I always feel really cold and boy do I ache all over , sometimes it hurts to even touch my skin, that sounds strange but that's the way it feels, I have little or no energy , at first I was just putting it down to post surgery and things would get better but as the weeks go on I feel I am taking 2 steps forward and 10 back. I tend to just muddle in but do you think it's time I went to my doctor about this, any help would be appreciated , thank you in advance xx

Symptoms and recovery
Hi Mogi,
Sounds like you have endured a lot in the past few weeks.
With the symptoms you are describing, I think it's important you do report to the doctor and request an appointment soon. Can't be too careful!
If you have a thermometer available, maybe also keep track of your temperature? This info may be helpful to your physician.
Hope you are feeling better soon!
Please do let us know how you are getting on?

Hi there Mogi,
I'm so sorry you are having and have had, such a rough time 😳 it sounds horrid.
I think a visit to your GP or, a visit from your GP would be a very good idea, or perhaps a phone call even, as it does sound as if you need some help. If you are struggling with sleep it is going to take longer for your poor body to heal from such major surgery. I am sure something can be done on that front. I also understand about the cold feeling, I end up with hot water bottles or wheat bags in strategic positions, maybe you could try that?
I'm sending lots of positive healing vibes to you and do let us know how you get on, it sounds like you need support at the moment and here is the right place to come and get it 😀😀
Foggy x
So sorry to hear this Mogi. I agree with the others - call your doctor if you can't get out and see if there is anything that he can give you to help.
On the feeling cold front , this happens to me a lot but I have found a solution. My daughter gave me a wonderful heated fleece overblanket for Christmas - this is wonderful when you are frozen through and an added bonus is my cats love it too!!!
I have pasted a link to this below from Amazon - I know that you can get it cheaper than this. Expensive but worth every single penny to me.

I do hope that you feel better soon - please let us know how you get on.
With kind regards.

Sorry to hear that you are not recovery as quickly as hoped. The coldness might be caused by general weakness after surgery and of course you won;t be moving around very much so the old circulation doesn't get going. As far as the skin problems are concerned I was trying only this morning to explain to an Occupational Therapist how tender my skin could get over my back and rib area and that sometimes even my vest clinging to it can feel like too much. It could be the op. has brought on a flare but as you don;t seem to be picking up I think it is at least worth ringing the docs and getting some advise and an appointment if they feel it is necessary and then at least you have covered all areas. As Mayrose says if you are not sleeping at all you are getting no respite from pain which will make the healing processes harder.
Let us know how you are doing. Very soft hugs flying over to you.x
I am so sorry to read of what you have endured, and I genuinely hope that you can find some resolution and relief to these issues. I would definitely go and discuss this with your GP just to get other things ruled out of the equation.
I want to genuinely wish you all the best of luck
Ken
