Unexplained Chest Pains/Palpitations
I don't know if any of it could be related either but I had a
spinal
fusion
in 2012 and have very mild Chiari Malformation. I'm thinking I could have Prinzmetal angina or microvascular angina but the doctor's mostly assume it's anxiety.

Ecmo and icu
Hello, my partner was admitted to A&E a week ago and put on a ventilator with severe pneumonia. Nothing helped until medical staff flew down from London to put him on ecmo and transferred him to London. He hasn't woken up after they stopped sedative 4 days ago, but he has eye movement, breathes alongside

Selegiline and the CHEESE REACTION
I've been taking Selegiline for the past two months and have had halfway decent results with it. Not great but slight improvement all around. I am taking 5mg two times per day. In recent weeks Ive been getting bad headaches, whereas I never got them in the past. After some careful figuring, I figured

Pain clinic fail.....😖 (long rant sorry)
I had an appointment with the pain clinic consultant last week after being seen by his registrar to get my pain medication sorted out. I’ve had chronic pain since a spontaneous Sacral fracture five years ago. I take Naproxen, Nortriptyline, Co-Codamol and Butrans patches. These had all been prescribed

Bowel endo
Hi, I had a resection in 2016 due to endo that had infiltrated my bowel wall. I had had previous surgery to remove endo. I have been fine since then until the last 6 months. My periods have gone incredibly heavy and pelvic pain is starting to creep in. The issue is I have had bowel problems for 6 months

Privately funded ivf with a donated egg in the UK
We have had a little delay in getting going with our second ivf cycle, due to me having spinal surgery in February. I’m fighting fit and now and had a consultation with our clinic, where they advised we need to use donor eggs to become pregnant. We are on the waiting list for an egg donor. It’s likely

Anaesthesia
For those for whom the matter is of any interest, I discovered that the anaesthetic used by Manchester Royal Eye Hospital is proxymetacaine (which they generally seem to just refer to as "proxy"). They do not "stock" tetracaine. I know some people, like me, are keen to know how effective the anaesthetic

Ongoing chronic pain
Hi everyone had
spinal
fusion
surgery in 2004 after many many years of intense pain whilst trying to hold down a job in construction . To make it as short as possible I suffered with severe spinal pain for many years it was then decided surgery was needed to stabilise my spine .

Rapid Progression of CBD?
This is my first post, so I hope this isn't a tired worn-out subject. My husband, like so many, had a long delay in his CBD diagnosis, including two spinal fusions and a lot of other shenanigans starting back in 2014. He has been moderately healthy until this spring (his last surgery was in February

Four years on and still feeling 20 years older
I broke my back in 2012 stumbling down a kerb and had
spinal
fusion
surgery done in 2013. During this time I continued to work - drugged up on pain meds, but I worked. I was back at work 12 weeks after my surgery and kept going with other things at home with the family right up until February 2015.

If you are Akinetic-rigidity Dominant PD then be aware of medications and supplements increasing Acetylcholine
⁉️Today I started taking celery seed extract and experienced an unprecedented dystonia. I searched and noticed; “Celery is a cholinesterase inhibitor. It inhibits the acetylcholinesterase enzyme from breaking down acetylcholine, thereby increasing both the level and duration of action of the neurotransmitter

Ignored CKD diet and then had best test results so far
I am not making recommendations that what I did should be done by you. Each must follow their own doctors advice. I am just relating my experience. In mid 2017 I had kidney removed. I immediately became classified stage 3b, with creatinine levels of 1.8 or 1.9. I followed all the advice. Diet.

Hello everyone, I have had a bit of a break from ttc after my first ivf cycle that resulted in a chemical pregnancy and subsequent miscarriage, to have spinal surgery. I feel much more physically prepared for pregnancy now. How I thought I could carry a child when my back hurt so much is silly in hindsight

A big decision , don't know what to do!
I've had back problems for 5 years and tried everything . I had a discectomy in 2017 on L5 but had complications and 2 more surgeries for a csf leak and spinal sepsis. I'm still in a lot pain and at first they said I need a 2 level fusion but the surgeon changed his mind saying it wouldn't help my pain
