Temporary stoma bag and endometrioma removal
So I'm set to have a five hour excision surgery to remove my endo and save my kidney hopefully soon. I've been told I have a 50% chance of ending up with a temporary stoma afterwards. Does anyone have any experience of this? Also been diagnosed with an endometrioma for the first time which is going to

Good news at long last
Evening, had our post op and histology appointment today and I'm happy to report that all is great. The tumour was from a polyp, a T3, it had grown into the muscle wall of the colon, but had not touched any lymph nodes. The surgeon removed 180 lymph nodes and they were all clear !!!! Hubby is at the

Endo removal & possibl bowel surgery....anyone had it done??
Hi ladies not been on in a while as i've been put at the botton of the list by accident so waited along time for my surgery to come around. That & the fact i need two surgeons to do my op, has proven tricky to get a op date. I'm going in for stage 4 endo removal & possible bowel resection. Maybe a stoma

Operation over
Hi, well just received a phone call from the surgeon, op was 6.5 hours long in the end. As he said it wasn't a walk in the park with this op. All went well, he's very pleased Went according to plan. And is now in recovery. He has a stoma fitted temporarily but now we can say he, apart from the CLL,

A somewhat overdue update.
A lot has happened since my last post. I had a total hysterectomy (The whole factory is gone now), omenectomy, and low anterior resection of my bowel near the rectum as part of my surgical debulking on January 20th. I initially healed well from it, but ended up back in the hospital January 31st when

Out the other side!
So 2 days after surgery - sitting in the chair rather than bed. It was adhesions causing the blockage - no visible disease and no stoma - what a relief. Thank you for all of your good wishes. Still in the critical care ward but feeeling much better today. Yesterday was excruciating as they had to stop

Surgery this week
Following an appointment with a specialist today my sister is scheduled for surgery on Wednesday. Initial staging is a 4 because of the ascitis but could be downgraded to a 3 once everything is out and looked at. A stoma has been mentioned as a worst case scenario. The other thing she was told is it

Anyone have experience of stoma bags?
Hi everyone. I'm Cath and new here and hope you don't mind me asking this: I need to gave a full hysterectomy in six months as a result of large cysts and kissing ovaries. There is a high chance that damage to my bowel will occur and I will need a stoma etc for a while afterwards while my bowel recovers

Severe endo. Choice of ovary removal or bowel surgery
Had quite a shock when I went back to my surgeon this week. He confirmed my diagnosis was severe endometriosis. I had though it was mild to moderate. He had warned me of the need for more surgery which I hadn't been keen on. I had started to brace myself for this bowel op after the sigmoidoscopy and

More Surgery
In the autumn, I wrote that I was starting Caelyx as 3rd line chemo. That was discontinued last month, after 3 cycles, as my scan showed it was having no effect. My onc suggested that, as I've had my current 4 GCT tumours for nearly 4 years, & no more new ones in that time, & nothing seems to be working

Worried about the hernia operation
In Aug 16 I underwent operation for rectal cancer and have a permanent stoma. I developed parastomal hernia which is being operated on at the end of this month. I am worried that something could go wrong and or the hernia could re-occur. I play golf and would like to start as soon as possible; how soon
