Just arrived home after debulking surgery on Thursday. A stoma was never part of the plan 😔
After 3 admissions and aborted surgeries due to low white count/neutrophils... It finally went ahead last Thursday. Prior to surgery my CA125 went down to normal range (in 3 chemos) and scan showed excellent response. My surgeon was convinced that I wouldnt need anything more than the usual debulking

Hernia support belt with stoma
Hi I had surgery in February last year to year as I have FAP ( a hereditary illness which means I stand a high chance of developing bowel cancer due to polyps) the surgery was preventative to remove my colon & rectum. I had a illeostomy/stoma for 3 months to give new pouch time to heal. I had the reversal

Would just like to say Hi!
Well.... Hello, I am a 48 year old married Mum of 2 from Lancashire in the UK. In 2013 I was diagnosed with Colon Cancer after emergency surgery for a perforated bowel. A Hartman's procedure was carried out and I was left with what is now a permanent colostomy. Unfortunately due to post operative complications

Newbie with a Permanent Stoma
Thought I would share my experience with members of this site to help people considering options before surgery and to know what to expect as no one seems to get down to the nitty gritty of what happens. It really does not have to be as bad as you might first imagine. I was first diagnosed with Ulcerative

Post-surgery, not as bad as you think...
Had my debulking surgery on Monday, & I'm not gonna lie it's notwhere near as bad as I thought. Think the anticipation of the unknown is far worse! Sunday was utter pants (the day before) & when I felt really stressed. Wanted to just scream at the top of my voice with frustration, self-pity & Anger!

How to support my partner after colostomy surgery?
Hi, I would like some advice. My partner is having surgery after Christmas to remove his large bowel and will have a stoma after the surgery. I know it is a big adjustment mentally and physically. I would like to know how best to support him after the surgery. Thank you for any advice you can give :)

Insides complete mess! Ivf to be or not to be? Advice very welcome!
Having had a recent LAP at a BSGE centre I have been told my insides are a complete and utter mess. Everything is stuck to each other inc bowel and some organs they can't even see! My appendix is also in my middle and not on my right! Their only option for me is a major op trying to separate organs,

Bowel & Endo problems
So just had my lap op & that took 8 months. Now it's so severe/deep surgeon has to refer me to specialist . The words stoma bag / bowel resection were mentioned. Have to have another MRI of my stomach! They put in the mirena coil but it seems to have already spread to my right ovary as well. Hysterectomy

Pill, Zoladex or Surgery, need help.
Hi, I've been going through Endo for nearly 10 years and had 2 surgeries to have it excised and unfortunately the last surgery went very wrong. I'm still having issues and not getting much support from the specialists. They are suggesting my symptoms aren't the norm for people who suffer Endo and saying

Healthy high calorie and protein meals
My mum is in hospital at the moment, has been ill for months, struggling to eat hospital food which is totally different to her normal healthy diet. We take in something for her supper but she is also being given special high calorie pots which she hates as they are too sweet and sickly. Any ideas for
