NASH and how bad is this FibroScan? Guess my life just changed.
I found out about NASH after a year of chasing pain in my side, and generally feeling not normal at times. GP thought it was Pulmonary which was wrong by a mile. I am 53 active guy (Hockey, Hiking, Kayak, Ski) who has been over weight 255lbs with a BMI from 30-36 since my mid 20's. GP mentioned slightly

Saturated fat: extraordinary claims require extraordinary proof
Humans have been eating saturated fats since before we were human, before we were hominids, before we were primates, before we were mammals. Seed oils have been around in quantity for a little over 100 years. Rapeseed oil/canola was poisonous until the 1970s. The claim that a fat that we have been eating

Singer with Severe/Brittle Asthma (non-allergic)
Hey everyone, 24 yr old female here. I'm currently on 184/22 Relvar Ellipta and Salbutamol after trying every other inhaler available. They didn't work and made it even worse; Relvar now works but the GP says it's the strongest medication they have that works for non-allergic asthma. My triggers are:

What is your preferred remedy for constipation? 🤔 🤔 🤔
I have suffered with the dreaded constipation almost all my life. I am currently prescribed Docusate Sodium capsules. Unfortunately they are not working any longer. I am suffering and don't know what to try next. I am on iron tablets, which I've been told do tend to make one a lil constipated anyway.

Parked at 4.5 mgm prednisone
It seems, that even when I try 1/4 mgm decreases, I feel ill. My rheumatologist ordered a morning cortisol level after a 24 hour “fast” from prednisone. The endocrinologist consult ordered the test after 48 hours but I felt very ill and popped a 5mgm dose about an hour before the blood draw so the

Kidney disease (category 3) and rising cholesterol level
Does anyone have cholesterol issues? I am so happy that stopping dairy and watching my protein intake (mostly plant based now) has helped me raise my gfr from level 3 to level 2 but yesterday’s meeting with my dr revealed that I now have cholesterol issues. Hard to believe...I was always a low carb eater

6-day Autophagy Fast
I am not expecting any of you to join me - but this might be of interest. I have been doing a 100-hour water fast every month, but I do not need to lose weight, so I do not need the calorie restriction of a water fast - and I do get low on energy on a 100-hour water fast. I do not have diabetes or any

How little sodium/day is too low?
I am in the process of getting into shape -- primarily to lower my blood pressure. I am eating very carefully. I am consuming far less sodium than I used to, and I am walking 8-9 miles/every 24 hour period. I decided to tally up my actual sodium intake/day. It ranges from 278 mg/day to 638 mg/day, presuming

(sigh) another visit to the Emergency Department
Yesterday (1/29/2021) after dinner I had tachycardia, 135 bpm, diagnosed upon discharge as SVT (again). I took a Diltiazem as prescribed by my electrophysiologist and waited an hour with no change, so off we went to the ED. Thankfully normal sinus rhythm returned with two IV doses of Diltiazem. My prior
