Oh my goodness. That's a long wait. I have something to help with the waiting part - praying for strength and reading and journaling and researching patience and long-suffering and getting inspired from it. I'm not great with health but I'm "healthy" according to the bloodwork and physicals. So what I eat makes a big difference to how i feel during the day moreso than anything else affects my mood. Eating enough but not too much fatty/greasy and sugars makes me feel much nicer. Fruits make me feel good. So does cereal and a little bit of tasty potato chips. I crave veggies because i never eat enough of them. Maybe that's what i need to eat more of and I'd feel better... too much meat weighs me down. Chicken is lighter than beef. Water is the fountain of life. Okay sorry I'm a ramble and unfocused one. I hope you stay well and miracles happen for you! For me too I hope.
Thankyou sarah3h. I am eating a fairly restricted diet. No gluten, dairy and doing my best to limit grains. Mainly chicken fish eggs with vegetables and nuts /seeds. Coconut Milk, filtered water and herbal teas. Fruit only really a banana. Not sure what else I can do to be honest. I was told carbs can cause increased inflammation, and as i have SIBO with leaky gut i'm taking l glutamine as a supplement. I pray for you for healing in your physical and mental health.
Thankyou Lessthanone. I've changed my diet quiet a bit to help ease inflammation in the gut but its still early days. Its "possible" this is die-off but the generalised anxiety at 8/10 throughout the day in the body ain't helping
Hi ja105, I’m sorry for your troubles. I would advise keeping a food journal while you wait. It is an incredible investment of time, no doubt, but it may be an invaluable tool for your medical providers to provide an accurate diagnosis. Good luck.
Hi Busybookworm, thankyou .. Yes I have a food diary, but sometimes forget to add entries in. Its a good reminder to me. Very difficult to isolate what's contributing the the gastrointestinal issues but i'm fully aware the generalised anxiety (feels like the adrenaline/cortisol is completely out of whack in my body and head) is a massive contributor to this. Other than meditative relaxation I'm a bit stumped for ways to calm down my dysregulated autonomic nervous system.
I struggle as well with GI issues due to anxiety. I'm having a setback which is what led me here. I actually had my gallbladder out (it was not functioning properly, but they didn't know if that was the cause of the symptoms), shortly after my GI symptoms returned. I ended up having a breakdown and with the help of a psychiatrist was put on Mirtazipine which has been a life saver. I also am doing some natural things as well. I am again struggling and hoping to find some other options too.
Sorry to hear of your struggles too pandaunicorn. Can I ask what natural options you are trying? The only things that i've found so far that help a little are meditative relaxation, gentle exercise (though I also get head Paresthesia and migraines which can worsen with exercise) . Listening to music and singing can help a little too. I've been on Mirtazapine for over a year, found at 7.5mg 15mg it helps with sleep but It also makes me feel quite numb and emotionally stunted (though that could be the depression/anxiety and the cortisol gone haywire in the brain)
Mortazipine actually has side effects lessen as the dose goes up usually. I'm on 30mg which I take around 8:30pm so I'm asleep by 10, but not too groggy in the am. I use magnesium (the brand calm, dissolve in about 5oz of water). I also do accupuncture. I also add pure paleo the chocolate flavor to my muesli in the morning...and gives me protein I'm sometimes missing when nauseous
I've just got some magnesium glycinate so starting that today. I may up mirtazapine to 30mg and take earlier in evening like yourself see if it helps. I can see you can goto 45mg but not sure if it helps any further with depression and generalised anxiety at that dosage.
