UK female 72yrs - CKD 3b - I finally had my Ultrasound and had to wait for a week for the results and talk it over with a Dr. Kidney all ok but a small enlargement of the bladder. Tried to discuss the low GFR of 48mL/m/1.73m (UK) and high Serum Potassium of 4.8mmol/L and high Serum Sodium of 141mmol/L without success - was told to have another blood & urine test in six months time. Then I asked about the Serum TSH level (Thyroid) of 5.04mlU/L highlighted as abnormal, again the same reply. I am trying to watch my diet now and go for more walks and thanks to this community I feel I can cope a bit better now x

If concerned which it sounds like you are, I would get a 2nd opinion on your lab results. I know quite often if my labs are off, my nephrologist would repeat my labs in 2 weeks. Hydration can really effect your lab results. So, make sure you drink plenty of water.
I’m not sure if drinking more water will lower your gfr. Last year and last month the opposite happened for me...after a week from my first test I was told to go home and get hydrated. (I drink 8 cups of water daily) So I made sure to drink atleast 10 cups of water for a few days and go get retested......the first tIme I went from a gfr of 74 down to 68...last month I was given the same directions and in a week I went from a gfr of 61 down to 54 in a week. I’m so lost and confused with these results!
