DOUBLE MASTECTOMY
I'm a 51 year old female, diagnosed 2014 with breast cancer. First yr as a survivor. 11 surgeries later I'm on a quest to wellness. But with this monster I have new medical problems. Feel like I will never get better. Anyone feel this way? Wellness where are you?

Triple negative mestastic please help.
Diagnosed one year ago with triple negative. After a double Mastectomy and chemo, it has now metastasized in the lungs and lymph nodes. Has anyone survived a similar situation? Outlook does not look good. Any advice would be appreciated.

Triple negative and BRCA1 positive
Hi, I am 42 year triple negative and BRCA1 positive. My tumor was 1.9 cm and 1 node involved. I don't have any close family members with known history of breast cancer. Genetic councelor suggested bilateral mastectomy and salpingo oophrectomy. Can anyone suggest which hospital best in India for my situation

Dealing with my first AF episode since diagnosis 6 months ago
I have posted a lot in the last few days about various problems this week and can only say thanks for all the help. So the thing is how do I deal with being in AF at the moment. For those who have not read or connected the posts here is a quick summary. I have had a virus which has gone to my chest.

Blocked tubes but no hydrosalpinx?
Yesterday I had a lap and dye to see conclusively whether one or both or my tubes were blocked and needed tying (HSG and ultrasound we’re inconclusive). The surgeon told me that yes, they were both blocked but no hydrosalpinx so no clipping required - what causes a blockage if not hydro and why can’t

Jumpy legs!!!!
I have been struggling with jumpy, spasm like symptoms for a long time. I was given Mirapex which worked very well at first. I became used to it I suppose and had to increase the dosage. When I was at 4 times the original dose and still having issues, I had to stop all together to "reset" my body. The

Gaucher Disease
Does anyone on here have Gaucher Disease? There seems to be a link between that, Parkinsons, and being an ashkenazi Jew. I'm trying to get more information about this. Thanks. Symptoms and timing of getting one then the other or simultaneous diagnosis.

Painful lumps, MRI and that What if feeling
With a BRCA 1 status, and history of Stage 1, grade 3 Triple Neg. cancer, I feel a little cast to sea without clear direction as to how to best monitor my body for recurrence. I had a non-nipple sparing double mastectomy and oophorectomy, so I know I've done due diligence surgically. I know this genetic

Association of sleep apnea and Parkinson's ?
Recently I was diagnosed with sleep apnea and while looking up if there is any connection between it and PD found the following article https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC5473481/ Would be interested to know if there are others on this site diagnosed with sleep apnea.

It's Official! Curing Patients Is Bad for Business! Milton Packer describes the end result of profit-dominated drug development
Sobering reading from Milton Packer in Medscape Today "Pharmaceutical companies are developing new drugs in only two therapeutic areas these days -- cancer and rare diseases. Why? These are the only therapeutic areas where exorbitant pricing is tolerated by payers. : Last week, things

DNA Testing
I did a DNA test for my PD dad back in February (around the time he had worsening dementia) and got the results back recently. There's a section on neurotransmitters, ie dopamine, norepinephrine etc and shows he has risks with Parkinsons. Not sure how accurate these tests are, obviously no idea what

Post miscarriage - what next for prep
Hi all I haven't posted for a while but I have been around. Following our managed miscarriage two weeks ago I am desperately keen to get going with our next round with fet, but also keen never to go through another miscarriage. Everyone advises to wait for 2 miscarriages before doing further tests but

Lymphedemajourney
I’ve just had a flare up of my secondary lymphedema due to radical mastectomy and 14 lymph node removal. It will be 2 years May 16, 2018 since my surgery. I’ve been able to control lymphedema with compression sleeve. But now I’ve had this flare up—swelling, upper arm & elbow redness & hot. Also spots
