Mirena and Exercise
Hi all - has anyone experienced bleeding after exercise with the Mirena? I had mines fitted in November after surgery so it might still be settling but I have noticed a pattern that I bleed after I’ve been horse riding - every time now (I have lessons once a week). And with this bleed I do have some

Hi to all I had my eight week appointment yesterday since having OHS. ECG normal for me, feel a lot better than before the surgery and back to daily routine, hopefully back to work next month. My echo wasn’t as positive, it shows the new valve is leaking and narrowing ( mild at present) my chest is

Back to gp to ask about last thyroid bloods🤦
Hi everyone ❤️ So I posted a couple of days ago about the abysmal treatment by my surgery in me getting new thyroid blood tests 🤦 First I should point out my surgeon in Liverpool requested these thyroid bloods because (1) , I've been off thyroid medication since January 31st (no thyroid) I had a 4D

gallbladder removal
Hello, I had my gallbladder removed a week ago today (keyhole). Recovery from surgery has been an absolute breeze, other than I slept for 4 days solid; despite telling pre op nurse, anaesthetist, recovery and ward nurse that I have PA and B12 deficiency and reacted very badly to an anaesthetic 10 years

Finally! 12 months to get to 100mcg
Just a little celebration really, I feel quite emotional sitting here with my Levo. 12 months ago I was diagnosed subclinical and thanks to this forum I've kept going even. Without you lot, I'd probably still be stuck on 25! Just keeping my fingers crossed that this dose increase finally helps me to

TTG ABS test results
My anti tissue transglutaminase test came back as <1.9cu. And IgA as 1.4g/L. As usual my surgery have put normal within range. Does anyone have any thoughts on these levels? I have done another B12 blood test online, not through my surgery, and it has come back borderline low.

Update on heart problems
Thank you all for your input last week re my 2 leaky valves and pulmonary hypertension diagnosis. Forgot to mention also have very low heart beat, low 40s , of which I was already aware but thought that was healthy, however, bradycardia at my age is apparently not good.I did a lot of phoning around

A big unknown
Hi Luludean For me I have to say I honestly don't know. An unexplained collapse in April 2020 started it all. Don't remember feeling anything in my chest at the time but then again don't remember much until coming round on the kitchen floor. Loop recorder implanted July 2020 then picked up subtle

fluid after detached retina
I had a detached retina last September 2023 with successful surgery. The fluid in my eye is still reabsorbing slowly, I’ve been told it is unusual to take this long. My original glasses are not suitable now but the consultant says do not get new ones yet. What can I do in the meantime.

Anesthesia and PD
I’m planning on having Morton’s neuroma surgery in a few weeks, unless I chicken out! I’m concerned about any negative effects because of anesthesia . I’m going to check to see if doing some type of block instead of General, is a possibility. Has anyone had that operation, or have experience with different

surgery before chemo
hi all My mums been diagnosed stage 3 HGSC - and the treatment plan has been determined to be surgery before chemo. My understanding was that chemo first was preferable - has anyone else had it in this order? (know I should trust the doctors but am overthinking a bit here! ☺️) thanks in advance

Excision on NHS
Hi everyone. Hope you are well. Does any of you know if we have any surgeons on NHS that perform excision surgery? I don't mind if it is not in London etc. I had previously had one privately done but now I don't have the funds so I'm looking within the NHS. Thank you.

7 weeks post-op, urinating still a concern
Reading my operation notes, I have something called 'bilateral ureters', which I googled & it's a rare a rare urinary tract abnormality, which explains having a lot of UTIs throughout my life! I haven't had a chat with the surgeon yet - but every time I wee, it feels a little like the end of a UTI /

Diagnosed, anxious & waiting for gyno
Was diagnosed with Endometriosis after receiving results from Ultrasound Scan. Was informed I am showing signs of Negative Uterine Sliding sign. Something about my bowel not sitting right with others… I haven’t really been told much else other than surgery is most likely treatment. I have had pains

I coughed up a little blood last august and thinking that I could possibly have an eneurism, I was sent to A&E. An x-ray showed a shadow in the lower left lobe of the lung. Because I was fit and healthy in all other respects I was treated for pneumonia and discharged with antibiotics but with a follow-up

Subcutaneous lump in chest.
Four weeks ago I noticed a red patch on the skin about 25mm dia. and itching. There was a lump the same size. I thought it might be a boil or some such so I did nothing. Two weeks later the red patch was the same but the lump was now about 90mm dia. Not painful. Was due for a urinary scan that weekend
