TTG ABS test results

My anti tissue transglutaminase test came back as <1.9cu. And IgA as 1.4g/L. As usual my surgery have put normal within range. Does anyone have any thoughts on these levels?

I have done another B12 blood test online, not through my surgery, and it has come back borderline low.

These tests aren't very accurate. And you could have non-coeliac gluten sensitivity which wouldn't show on these tests.

Do you think you have a problem with gluten? If so why not cut it out your diet? I know it restricts your diet quite a lot but it is worth it. I no longer have terrible acid reflux and bloating. Although I do miss bread and doughnuts.

Hi,

A person with coeliac disease can get a negative or normal range result in tTG antibody test if

1) they have IgA deficiency

Have you had a Total IgA test which checks for IgA deficiency?

There are different blood tests for coeliac disease for people with IgA deficiency.

2) they were not eating enough gluten prior to blood being tested

Did your GP ask you to eat lots of gluten in more than one meal per day for several weeks before blood was tested?

If your answer is no to either of these questions then coeliac disease could still be a possibility.

I have been eating all sorts of gluten, bread, pasta etc. I don’t suffer with acid reflux or indigestion, just bloating and nausea. I have done another microbiome test and it says I have very little stomach acid, level was 8.1.
