Excision on NHS

Hi everyone. Hope you are well. Does any of you know if we have any surgeons on NHS that perform excision surgery? I don't mind if it is not in London etc.

I had previously had one privately done but now I don't have the funds so I'm looking within the NHS.

Thank you.

I'm not sure if you can access other hospitals easy but I am having excision surgery with the nhs under the care of an endometriosis specialist I am based in East Anglia a hospital here has a dedicated endometriosis team. Finding specialists may be your route to excision in general though.

Hi,I had my diagnostic lap that ended up with excision on NHS. It was eventually performed in the private hospital, where I was a NHS patient, so everything was still free of charge.

I’ve just had my op with Mr Patrick Rosser in arrowe park hospital (Wirral) they also have Mr Rowlands who is internationally recognised. However if you’re under the nhs I don’t think you can go to another hospital? Waiting list for arrowe park hospital was almost 2 years

Most Endo experts perform surgery with excision, have a look at the BSGE site to see which hospitals have an Endo centre and look up the consultants from there. Your GP can refer you to any hospital but they will prefer local ones under the same area, don’t let that stop you though.

Hi there! I had an excision 3 weeks ago at a private hospital (hosted, paid for, and arranged by the NHS) in South Wales. Ms Anita Nargund performed the operation - all went super super well. Mr Anthony Griffiths also performs them with the NHS. Know we’ve a different country (technically) but they might work in Bristol and across the border too!

Hi there

Just wondering, how did you manage to get that done? The private care under NHS. I’m hoping you didn’t have to wait long either!?

Can I ask are you well known to your clinicians for having endometriosis has it been going on a while for you? London has been a nightmare. Most test I paid for myself privately but I have found a large 9.5cm endometrioma and they’ve not said anything about endometriosis… I don’t feel like I’m in good hands to be honest but the cyst is getting bigger…

Only connection I have to wales is family. Sadly travelling down for grandmother funeral Monday but apart from that think I’m gonna be a bit stuck. I will be direct and ask gp to refer me to Endo specialist. Do not want to be bothered they like to take out ovaries and tubes even if they don’t have to.. really glad you had a good experience.

Not what you're looking for?
