Clinical trial shows sunscreen is effective in preventing UV from causing genetic damage and protects against the three forms of skin cancer
Down under, we are heading into another summer and so will need to be vigilant about sun safety, given the increased risk of skin cancers that goes with CLL. For those that wonder whether smearing a chemical concoction over the largest organ in your body is wise, the Queensland University of Technology

After a bad day at work, I came home and was all about "Nah, I'm too tired/ I need a coffee first...coffee equals I have to run to the loo all the time...conclusion: No run for me today". I started cooking dinner, then my stubbornness came back and there was no way I would skip my run today. If I started

Petition Her Majesty's Treasury: Abolish the 20% VAT levied on sunscreen in the UK
There is already a petition similar to this on the UK government website and I have set this one up to help back it up. Being a Melanoma patient I think that it is outrageous that the government are charging this levy on something that is essential to maintain healthy skin and avoid the risk of skin

Cellulitis or not!!!!
Woke up this morning and my arm was painful and swollen. Put my sleeve on and tried to carry on as normal. By lunch time it was really painful so took sleeve off and realised it was now very red!!! I rang the breast care nurse and she sent me straight to my Doc who has prescribed Antibiotics. She said

PMR and Lyme disease?
Does anyone have any information on the connection between PMR and Lyme disease? It seems to be a suspected cause especially in America, I live in Africa and have had the local version, Tick Bite Fever. My Rheumy ruled out Tick Bite Fever as a cause but then said he didn't know what caused PMR!

I'm having my 2nd DAS assessment in 4 weeks but it's looking very likely that I will come off leflunomide but remain on injected MXT and start this anti-TNF drug (my first). I know everyone is different but I would be interested to hear some experiences about it; side effects, how long it took to work
