Coronary artery bypass graft.
I had a quad heart bypass on Christmas Eve 2019 at Basildon Hospital, Essex...writing this exactly 1 month after, feeling good after terrible back/shoulder pain for the first 3 weeks...now sleeping better. Saw the cardiac nurse today and she stressed that it is quite a journey back to total fitness so

Costochondritis: have many of you been diagnosed with this a year or two after CABG?
Just been given diagnosis of this - Costochondritis - after an ECG and review by good Doctor. I had some increase in general chest pain for 2-3 weeks, and various other aches and pains. My concern was the pain was a sign of circulation issues but have been reassured this is non Cardiac but just a consequence

Possible nail melanoma
Hi. I am a 21 year old African American woman. I’ve been getting my nails done (acrylic/gel) for a few years now, I recently took my nails off and notice a faint grey streak on my right ring finger. I over think ALOT, like to the point where I make myself sick. I googled “black streak on nail” and came

Azathioprine and Mesalazine
The saga continues... I started taking azathioprine a week ago despite speaking to a pharmacist that my mesalazine was mentioned in the aza leaflet. He told me not to worry. It was fine. Today I was picking up my repeat prescriptions and saw that my more regular pharmacist was in and So I decided

Basal cell cancers on scalp
Due to ongoing recurrence, referral to Maxillofacial surgeons advised to do a wider excision as a day case to a single area with associated

. Mum had her clips out of the area a week ago yesterday and the surgeons seem pleased so far but it's become very very sore.

I’m shocked!
My Endo who sent me for radioactive iodine whole body scan isn’t a Endocrinologist after all he’s a military medical intern who now works in pediatrics and I’m left without a doctor and have thyroid cancer recurrence. Can you believe this I even asked him you plan on sticking around here and he said

Waiting time for CABG
Hi. For anyone here who has had CABG surgery at the Royal Brompton, roughly how long following your pre-assessment appointments did you have to wait for your surgery? I know these things vary but it would be useful (reassuring) to get a vague idea how much longer I may have to wait for surgery? Thanks

Azathioprine
Can I have your experiences of this drug please? My rheumy wants me to start this (as soon as my blood tests come back to show I’m healthy enough 😳) and I just don’t know...The side effects look daunting and it’s a carcinogen too? I feel like I’m damned if I do, damned if I don’t.

Low blood pressure after triple CABG
Hi everyone. I hope you are all doing ok. My husband who is 36 had his operation 3 days ago (no HA). His blood pressure has been low since then (now 90/60 but was lower 2 days after the op). He never had any problems with his BP until now. He is cold most of the time and shivers a lot. He is drinking

Bit fed up today....
6 months post cabg x 4 and sometimes forget what happened as my recovery has been so good. However last week I had the aches and symptoms of a virus and this week I have a gastric bug. Anyone else find they pick things up so much easier now?
