Malignant melanoma

Hi i had a malignant melanoma removed 3 years ago, my daughter had one removed 10 years ago, and my maternal grandmother died age 60 with malignant melanoma, really disappointed with the aftercare from the hospital, my nurse specialist was not helpful or kind, and told me everytime i saw her that at my age you expect to get lumps and bumps, was discharged from the hospital last year because of a change in government guidelines, now awaiting surgery to have my thyroid removed hope my treatment will be better this tome

Hi Tatty, sorry to hear that you've had such a bad experience. Maybe you should make a written complaint to the Chief Executive of your local health board.

All the best with your thyroidectomy - hope you receive better care.

Hi shell thanks for your reply,i hope too that i will get better care after my thyroidectomy, i am just too tired out emotionally to write a complaint about my experience of my melanoma, i really think that the nurse specialist should have been better trained, or was she just having a bad day.

I know what you mean. Sometimes complaining is just one more thing to do - and you don't need the hassle.
