Boils, Carbuncles and Abscesses
It has been such a long time since I have been in this space or written anything. I had a really nasty flare and and continuous colds that I thought it would never end. Since last year April I have had reoccurring boils and carbuncles. Due to Covid-19 I have not seen a GP because they would not allow

One week, three runs, 🥇5k, 🥈5k, + 🥇my first 10k!! 📣😁🦌🏃🏼♀️
After my
shin
splints
and then post-jab pause, I returned to a short gentle 4k run a week ago. During the week I ran two 5ks. The first was a record-breaking new gold🥇37:53; pace 7:33 for the whole 5.08km (although it looks like I mis-entered my COGH data, confusing my run and walk elements!

Muscle loss
My dad has just recently been diagnosed with CLL. Over the past few months he has been losing a lot of muscle mass especially round his arms. Does anyone have any advice about this? And any tips on how to boost his energy levels? Tom

Shin splints
The pain was like a needle sticking in my lower leg and I was convinced there was something in my sock, but no - according to a regular runner friend, I have
shin
splints
. No pain when I walk, but if I press on it, it's a very sharp pain. Looks like I'm out of action and resting for a while 😕

I did it!! I actually did it!! First ever 5k run under my belt 🤩
Learning why I was experiencing
shin
splints
in the first 3 weeks was another small goal which has now lead me to running my first ever 5k without stopping in 35 minutes and 3seconds!

Intertrigo
I have mentioned before that I have a skin condition called Intertrigo. Skin underneath my boobs is sore & red. Currently I am using Sudocrem, after many steroid creams have been unsuccessful. I am looing for t shirt type of top with cups. I am finding the lower band of my soft bras irritates the skin

Injuries
I feel like it may be
shin

and I’m gutted as it took a lot of motivation to start and feel like I’m going to have to stop again already

Two weeks, messy story 🏃🏼♀️🏃🏻♂️+🏃🏼♀️🏃🏻♂️+🚶♀️🚶🏻💉+🚷+💉🚶♀️🚶🏻+🚷+🏃🏼♀️🏃🏻♂️
Then I got
shin
splints
. This injury kept me away from running - and also from walking - for nearly a week. Next, I was summoned for my vaccination. Different centre. Different route. More opportunities to check out potential new running paths.

Boils or cysts!
Ihave over 3 weeks had 7 boils on am embarrassing place and in the end went to the doctor's. When I rang up I was asked can I take a picture of them. I said no as it's in a unreachable place and embarrassing! I got a telephone appointment then when I spoke to the doctor she said I had to see her. I

Back at it after a break
I haven’t felt any motivation to run since and coupled with the severe
shin
splints
I’ve been experiencing every run, I decided I just wouldn’t run. Easy. Saw a video posted on here about
shin
splints
, where they were caused by a lack of flight phase whilst ‘running’.

Lyme's Disease long term arthritis
Is there anyone out there who has long term joint issues due to Lyme's Disease. I had it in 2019 but now struggle to walk 1 mile due to my knees apparently having crumbled and I have cysts on the cartlidge too. Is anyone having similar problems please ? Any advice too thanks.

Thoracic window
Hello there. Not been on here for a while. Following a nine year history of lung cancer and pneumonectomy I unfortunately had to have clagetts procedure last year which has now left me with a thoracic window. Having been reassured at the time that I would have a closure within months with a skin graft

Shin splints!
The day after I woke up with painful
shin
splints
! I’m so annoyed at myself. Consequently I’ve not run for the last 2 days and I’m still in some pain. Any advice on what I can do to alleviate the pain and when I might start running again? I’m guessing once I’ve been out of pain for a few days?

Cold Sores and Rituximab
Hi Everyone Great news about the very positive effect the vaccines are having on Covid cases - onwards and upwards. Does anyone have any ideas why I have had 4 cold sores in 4 or 5 weeks? They started before my Covid vaccine so it isn't that. I had my last round of Rituximab in November 2020 after

I JUST RAN MY FIRST 5K EVER!!
Every run was difficult and I battled with calf pain and also
shin
splints
at one point (which required me to have a week off to rest up). Although I don't like to admit it, I am a quitter. When things get hard, I tend to give up.
