Week 5 and struggling!
I have got compression socks in an attempt to help and I have been researching and doing exercises to help with
shin
splints
, as well as warm up and cool down stretches. Any other advice? Will it get better? Anyone got any experience of getting through similar problems? Help...! Thanks.

Newbie
I tried to do C25K about 6 years ago, but got terrible
shin
splints
. I saw a physio at the time who said I needed to work on walking distances first, so I gave up running. I then became too frightened to run again.

From week 4 pain to week 5 success!! 😊
I found some effective strengthening exercises to help improve
shin
splints
and I ordered some sports insoles to give my feet more support. I read a post about positive thinking which helped my mindset and I read about something called Japanese Slow Running, which helped me think about pace.

I’ve not run more than 5k and I don’t really want to take it any further. 3 weeks ago I developed
shin
splints
so rested for 2 weeks. Went on my first run since on Friday and now have knee pain - google tells me this is my ITS band. So annoying, especially with the lockdown.

Week 8 run 1... upped the stride a bit, was more of a shuffler before, as I'd had bother with
shin
splints
, and am pleased to say I managed just fine, and the extra 3 mins seemed easy... just 5 more runs to graduate ! Who would have thought it?

Concentrating on form
So after much internet research into
shin
splints
I decided to run without my dog today, and concentrate on my feet. Back to old C25K advice, thinking about kissing the ground with the balls of my feet. I managed 3k without any real pain so that’s a start!

I've put my sensible head on - taking time to heal
I have
shin
splints
again (medial tibial stress syndrome) but I'm feeling mindful and accepting of the situation, which you tend to do when you have spent time on the injury couch before.

Finally did it
It feels like my heart is going to explode out of my chest while my lungs simultaneously implode, thats assuming the
shin
splints
haven't ground me to a halt. After 15 mins however everything starts to normalise, the shins stop hurting and breathing becomes more regular.

Toenails and PsA (there is a photo)
When I first saw the rheumy, he asked about issues with my toenails and I said no. My nails aren’t exactly attractive, but they’ve been the way they are now for so long that I didn’t give it a second thought. My finger nails all have very faint vertical lines with sparse but fairly regular splinter haemorrhages

Self monitoring approaches: apps and strategies for high risk skin cancer
Hi there, i learned recently that I am at high risk of melanoma due to gene mutation so time to turn up the active monitoring strategies and so looking for info on which approaches work for people. So i see mobile apps that let you track and even a few that use machine learning to assess moles, i see

Embracing my inner snail and tortoise 🐌 😌 🐢
On the whole, my shins (post-
shin
splints
) are behaving themselves so far. I'm now on just one walk interval and my run sections are getting longer. Although there is still a way to go before I hit that magic 30 minutes again, I have learned to be patient over the course of my C25k journey.

Running gently with shin splints
The internet says rest
shin
splints
until the pain has gone. It only hurts when I run, so how do I know of the pain has gone unless I run?? So we did a gentle slow run with some walking when we felt like it, finishing with a slightly faster run just to see how it went.

Recovery running is putting a smile on my face 😊
Hopefully they will help fend off a return of the dreaded
shin
splints
. Happy running to all who can, and to those on the IC, I hope that you are back out there soon. 😊🌳🏃♀️

Supplements for losing toe nails?
I’m sure I’ve read that being Hashimotos can cause issues with nail plates / beds. Ever now and again I lose toe nails and have recently been hyper and lost another nail again. I also have skin growing over the sides of my nails which is annoying. Just wondering if anyone can recommend anything that

Any particular concerns about having a boil on shoulder and primary lymphoedema affecting lower limbs?
Probably coincidence, but in 2016 I first developed lymphoedema symptoms in my right foot and leg. Shortly afterwards I had a very nasty boil on my shoulder which lasted several months but eventually (with help of antibiotics) get better but left a large scar. Now another boil has developed where

Update on diagnosis with ANA + symptoms only!
hi guys, i posted a week ago on here about how i was confused about my lupus diagnosis since my doctor diagnosed me on symptoms and positive ANA alone and started me on treatment right away. She did give me more blood tests, MRI, and ultrasound but she said even if those come back normal shed still
