Shin splints: tubigrip - help or hindrance?
I'm only on week 2 of the programme, but I've been experiencing
shin
pain which I'm assuming is
shin
splints
(I believe they're quite common in 'new' runners). My question is: Is tubigrip a good idea? Will it help or make things worse?

I just want to go for a run aka the importance of posture
I think I'd feel a bit more like it was a "proper" running injury if it was
shin
splints
, or a torn achilles, or whatever other running injuries there are. But no, I'm a bit special ;) I managed to injure my neck!

Skin Cancer and CLL a Mayo community study...
'Patients with CLL are at higher risk of developing melanoma and other skin malignancies. The survival of patients with melanoma is worse, stage for stage, in patients with CLL than patients without. It is thought that early diagnosis of skin cancer is critical to improving survival in CLL patients.'

Still waiting but not patiently
Well, I still have those wretched
shin
splints
. I have taken the decision* not to run at all for 4 weeks, am 1 1/2 weeks through that (yes, I AM counting the minutes).

Back again after a two week injury lay-off. Don't worry guys, injury doesn't need to mean losing your hard won fitness!
However after a nine miler on the 29th when it hurt for the first four miles, then finally eased off when I'd warmed up, I did a bit of reading around what I thought was a pulled
shin
muscle only to find out I probably had
shin
splints
and should be giving myself a minimum of two weeks off!!

5x50 Day 40
Somehow already walked 7K today, walking seems to be giving me
shin
splints
which running never does. So I could have a night off tonight, tempting.

It's all in the shoes!!
Hi all, Just completed week 1 and after treating myself to some proper running shoes the
shin
splints
have GONE!! It's a miracle...or the glycerin 10's!! I feel quite proud to have completed this week, even tho I know it's nothing compared to what's coming!!

Bye bye week 6 - that's another one crossed off!
. :-( I am wondering if I should give hard surfaces (streets) a go but having had an attack of
shin
splints
on W1 r1 that meant I had to rest and start again a week later I'm not really wanting to get them again at this stage. What surfaces are the rest of you running on?

I'm back - sort of
Intially I thought
shin
splints
and was gutted to read I'd be off running for 2 weeks. However even though I've only done two really easy going runs this week they don't seem any worse, and most of the pain appears to have moved from my shins to my calfs.

Athletes foot??
Ive been getting what I think is athletes foot on and off for a couple of months now. I'm not sure it is athletes foot as I have it in the past and it was always insanely itchy but this isn't. This time it is the skin between my toes splitting open and bleeding. It is really sore and painful. I always

Compression bandage, shin splints
Does anyone know how long I have to wear this for? Actually using a tubular support bandage on my leg, but it feels bit better. Do I leave it on when icing? Have looked on web, but no nearer! Not major shin splint pain, just above inside left ankle, but resting for few more days as hurts still when I'm

Does anyone get very out of breath, post viral meningitis.
I had viral meningitis in June, now sleep most days as im always so tired and very out of breath just by walking short distances. Was curious if this has anything to do with meningitis or if it could be something else. I have told my doctor but she does not seem to want to do anything about it. My
