Quit smoking 5 fags a day for 14 years and asthma has kicked off..
Hi peeps,I'm new to this forum š. Never really struggled with asthma since I was a teenager 20 years ago. At the age of 21, I started smoking roll ups. Never had asthmatic cough during the 14 years of smoking. Reason I gave up was because I took up vaping & preferred the taste of that to fags. But then

Mannitol challenge
Hi, hope you are all well. š Bit of a long story sorryā¦. Iāve recently seen a new consultant, who is sending me for a āmannitolā challenge test and wondered if anyone else who has similar asthma to me, has had experience of this and what the outcome was. A consultant I saw a couple of years ago,

Question for those with both asthma and nasal polyps
Hello, I just wanted to ask those with CRSwPolyps (rhinitis and polyps) and asthma, which developed first ie asthma or rhinitis/polyps and by how many years. Reason I ask - apparantly up to 70% of people with rhinitis and polyps develop asthma. I have had rhinitis with polyps and I am told that

Change of Hospital
The respiratory nurse referred me a month ago, to a consultant specialising in
severe
asthma
, at hospital B. He accepted the referral and said he was happy to take me, however he asked hospital A for my notes.

inflammation in eyes
I have an inflammatory eye condition either episcleritis or anterior uveitis. Iāve been on steroid drops for this which have given me cataract. On top of this inhave 2 stoma bags for a perforated bowel ( which triggered the eye inflammation). Itās been a horrendous time and Iāve become very down.

Nucala Injection's for Severe Asthma
Good morning, everyone, my GP recently discussed briefly with me a medication given via injection called Nucala which is sometimes given to patients with higher eosinophil levels. I just wondered if anyone has ever been given this? and if so did they find it beneficial in managing their asthma better

Pulmonary Rehabilitation Course
I got asked to come in to see my gp asthma nurse. On the asthma nurses door she had a large poster advertising my local hospitals pulmonary rehabilitation course, and the poster suggested that I ask my local gp practice to refer me. I asked the nurse if she could refer me, she said that only a consultant

My story
Hi, it all started by going into hospital for day surgery for Hemorrhoids. Within 36 hours my wife had taken me back to A & E with a high heart rate and low blood pressure. I was also in a lot of pain, which I put down to the surgery for Hemorrhoids. I was soon in majors and within a few hours I was

Turns out I had a
severe
case of
Asthma
and have only just managed to dodge going to hospital. Still coughing and awake at night while coping with this and jet lag. My husband avoided Covid all together and is pretty much in his normal sleep pattern-much to my chagrin.

Asthma with fixed airways?
Hello! I'm new to this forum. Over the years, I've had a diagnosis of Asthma, followed a few years later by COPD, followed after that by Bronchiectasis. Last summer, I went to the surgery for my COPD review and the nurse said, 'I don't know why you're here. You don't have COPD.' I argued, of course

Severe Bowel Endo/ Adeno
Hi all, posting for the first time just for a bit of support and to see if someone has been in a similar position. I have been going back and forth to the GP since 2016 with pelvic pain, tiredness and extreme bloating. I was told I had Ibs , however the pain was always in my pelvic area, heavy periods

My middle child is asthma free which is great but they are querying asthma in my youngest, she is currently 4 (

Stoma patient, mucus from anus
Iām seeing mucus from my anus, just this past week. Iāve had a bowel tumour that perforated in April 2023. Iām due my scan on 4th October. I have a stoma and no chemo ? I also have a hernia behind the stoma , awful pain from constant irritation on the skin surrounding the stoma? Some backache too?

allergies, asthma and polyps
Good morning. Iāve been on Benralizumab for two years now. It has been extremely successful in treating my atopic eosinophilic asthma, going from monthly chest infections to zero and I am extremely grateful. Like many asthma sufferers I am allergic to many things; cats, dogs, all types of pollen

benralizumab side effects
Hi all. Finally started my asthma injections and my asthma has reduced dramatically, it's been nearly 4 weeks since my first injection. I was wondering if anyone else had these side effects. Mainly some dizziness and quiet bad fatigue. Often I get really tired and lack of energy. Got my second jab this
