Does anyone have any advice about helping someone to come to terms with an asthma diagnosis?
Hi. My younger brother (10 years old) just got diagnosed with asthma and is having a hard time coping with it. He doesn't like having something wrong with him. My mom asked me to talk to him because I have asthma and know what it is like. I don't know what to say to him to make him feel better and not

Laproscopy for endo and possible stoma
Hey ladies, so I've been in a lot of pain and discomfort for a year or so. Finally had ultrasounds then had an mri which has found endo on/in my bowel. I've got surgery on Monday and been told to be warned I could end up with a colostomy bag if they find more than 3cm worth of endo in my bowel. I was

Bronchiectasis and Asthma
Hey I’m new here, I first was diagnosed with asthma when I was about three and after repeated trips with chest infections and pneumonia they worked out I had bronchiectasis at the age of 18ish. I had more pneumonia infections which led to my left lower lung to be scarred, and then after loads of steroids

Bronchiectasis and GP Practise
I have

allergic
asthma
(which seems to have tied in to this diagnosis) and use my Nebuliser 4 times a day. Although my Consultant seems knowledgeable my GP practise seems to not know what to do with me.

Asthma and Exercise
Hi all. I don’t present with typical asthma symptoms. So I don’t wheeze, when I’m really bad my oxygen levels are normally fine. Due to this I ended up having a Mannitol challenge test last year which I didn’t get very far with, ended early on with a positive result. It’s been a long road but with

Asthma and allergy advice for 9 year old
Hi. Sorry if my post is too long. Background: My son is 9 years old and I am worried about his asthma and asthma management. He is also allergic to tree nuts and year around hay fever. My husband and only the males in his family have hayfever but not asthma. My son takes citirizine everyday throughout

Asthma/ coughing
The past week or so my asthma has been quite bad and I have been coughing a lot. This morning I woke up and coughed up up small blood clots and then when I would spit from brushing my teeth blood clots would appear again. Has anyone ever experienced this as I’m not sure what to do.

Child with immunodeficiency (IGA) and Asthma
Hi, My daughter of 2.5 has breathing problems. I call it “pre-asthma”, given she has all the signs of and inhalers for asthma but is too young to be diagnosed. She has just had her first set of full blood tests done to rule out any immunodeficiencies, allergies etc. These were done at the request of

Two questions about my asthma
Or does the flu trigger a lasting
severe
asthma
condition that I now will have to live with for the rest of my life ? My second question is how do you deal with this condition especially when it gets worse?

Moving to another part of the country
I currently live in Derbyshire and due to my Asthma getting worse and this area is not good for asthmatics apparently. I am confused on where to move in the country to reduce my symptoms. I have looks at the BLF website data and it says Wiltshire and the Cotswold's is the low area for asthma. No idea

Mum admitted to a nursing home
Just thought I would update everyone on my mother’s situation. My mum is now 90 and had a stroke and a bowel resection 18 months ago. She can no longer swallow, is fed (over 10 hrs each day) by PEg straight into her stomach, has a stoma, memory issues and is unsteady on her feet. She has now been

My doctor told me injections less than 10 weeks apart can be dangerous!
It took a good while to get my PA diagnosis (I was tested for heart problems, diagnosed with high blood pressure,
asthma
& told my
severe
headaches, memory & hair loss & clumsiness were menopause).
