I am overweight but that's because I'm on high dose steroids for my
severe
asthma
. I've cut a large amount of sugar and only eat 2 meals a day with some snacks in-between. I gained weight rapidly without changing my food.

Are cleaning products, aerosols etc worsening my asthma?
Hi all,I'm on day 4 of prednisolone and antibiotics for a particularly nasty chest infection, (GP said sending me to hospital was borderline). 2nd course of pred this year and it's only May. Unusual for me as I often don't need any, or only one short blast, of pred in a year. My asthma generally has

Fostair inhaler
Had my asthma review at my GP surgery today and apparently my asthma is poorly controlled which I knew anyway so she wants to consider changing my steroid inhaler to Fostair. I'm already on Flutiform 250/10 as well as Spiriva which I know isn't a steroid. What's the difference between the two and is

Advice for operation
Hi All,I'm scheduled for my debulking surgery next week, I've been told to expect to be in hospital for 7-10 and will almost certainly have a stoma. Does anyone have any advice for me on what to take to hospital, and how to manage those first few days after the op? Any food to avoid, and any food recommended

And the qualification is
severe
asthma
with more than 3 exacerbations needing oral steroids per year. This such good news. I suspect it will only be available in tertiary clinics to begin with. But is good for lots of people who don’t have high eosinophils.

Allergy to prednisolone?
Hi everyone I have
severe
asthma
and was diagnosed with adrenal insufficiency in 2020 after taking lots of Pred when Covid triggered my asthma. I was just left on 5mg Pred for two years with no endocrinology involvement.

Half an hour later my Consultant and his Registrar came to see me , My consultant said that he could not do the procedure because of my
severe
asthma
as it would be very dangerous . He already knew about my asthma . And I discussed my asthma with him months beforehand .

Can’t decide
I have significant stage 4 endometriosis and adenomyosis for which I’ve had multiple surgeries including two excision and removal of left ovary and both tubes. Since my last excision I’ve been in pain every day which is now much worse as the disease returns within months of surgery even when excised

Graves Disease
Hi, I have type 2 diabetes, I was over-prescribed metformin which had its horrors. When I came off it I was quickly diagnosed with thyroxicosis and hypercalcemia. Saw the endocrinologist yesterday. |He sat there and said do you know what you have wrong with you, then he told me I had Graves disease

Stronger than steroids
I have had nasty asthma attacks for four days now, as the weather has got cold again. The asthma nurse says that she will ask the consultants permission to move me on to something stronger than fostair 200, to avoid having to give more pred. Any ideas as to which inhaler she could be referring to

Prednisone use.
I have COPD and
asthma
(never
severe
) but since having COVID 19 in 2022 it has gotten worse and not as easy to manage. Does anyone here use Prednisone approx 5 mg on almost a daily basis and if so has it caused you any repercussions.
