Home again!

My trip overseas was very hot and the river cruise was great-no cooking for nearly a month! The downside is that after I travel home in the giant aluminium tube that recirculates air for about 800+ travellers, I managed to get Covid. No probs, got the anti virals and wondered why I wasn't getting better and coughing a lot. Turns out I had a severe case of Asthma and have only just managed to dodge going to hospital. Still coughing and awake at night while coping with this and jet lag.

My husband avoided Covid all together and is pretty much in his normal sleep pattern-much to my chagrin. No probs with carrying the suitcase of Clexane and other assorted meds so when I get rid of this I hopeI can get back to my usual walks etc. Have been glancing at this page along the way-got to keep up with the latest!!

Cheers, Keep well all.

wow. Site tight and get better Great news travelled on you hols.

Something I want to do. Haven’t seen UK family for coming up 5 years.

Who insured you.

Did clexane cover you instead of warfarin completely

I have been told to do the finger prick testing with own machine???

I don't use Warfarin at all. and because my INR was so Labile the machine (for me, at least) was fairly useless. The DOAC's while convenient, were not recommended as a treatment for triple +ve's. I've been on Clexane + 100mg Aspirin for a few years now and apart from the bulky packaging, as far as travel goes, suits me well. I get blood tests every 3 months to keep my range in 1.0-1.1 so the dose is not by weight solely. I find it easier to adjust to time differences with 12 hourly injections-especially in Europe.

I didn't have insurance for APS as I couldn't find anyone that did it but I did have Covid cover and Epilepsy was covered as a 'normal' disease. My APS has been very stable on Clexane so I wasn't scared about this part at all. There was a doctor on board the cruise boat for emergency cover as some of the medical facilities in the place we visited was less than satisfactory, but luckily not needed!

Thank you for the explanation. My heart surgeon said he would verify with letters etc. sounds like I will have fun insuring too. Will keep you posted

Hood you are feeling heaps better.

Could I just ask. Was it your first time for Covid?

Thank you Linda

I feel like my home is a mini pharmacy ATM😊 Last night was my first full night’s sleep, even though I woke very early. I might even be able to face the day!

That’s terrific. There is nothing like a good night of sleep. May they continue!
