Crigler-najjar diagnosis any other parents with similar?
Hi my little boy has just been diagnosed with crigler-najjar, he is 9 weeks old. I'm desperately trying to find other parents who have experience of this rare illness for some reassurance and advice. At present were not sure of severity of it but at present it is being controlled with phenobarbital and

Pressured to travel 2.5 weeks after laparotomy.
I woke from my planned keyhole oophrectomy, cystectomy and endo removal on the 2nd Dec to find the op hadn't gone as expected and I'd needed a laparotomy. Recovery has been far more uncomfortable than my two c-sections and previous laparoscopy with nerve pain in my leg from being flat on my sore pelvis

10 months post SAPL surgery.
Yesterday I had my 10 month post op follow up with my surgeon and therapist for my left leg. While my foot and ankle still have a little swelling (which over time will continue to go down) my leg is looking and doing fabulous. I can even see muscle definition occurring The therapist even said i could

What to take after laparoscopy?
Hi guys, I am having adhesiolysis and excision surgery on Friday (15th Nov 17). Is there a high chance of the endo coming back after this surgery? How long have people stayed in hospital after this surgery? - If it is a long stay, then how long were you in hospital and what did you pack to take to hospital

Did anybody have a third degree tear with a vaginal birth despite having an episiotomy? If so how did you cope afterwards?

My body has changed a lot recently, my thighs are bigger and my biceps too as well as a little extra around my middle. Most of this change is because of an increase in muscle mass but due to my body dysmorphia it’s really really hard for me. I just tried on all my pants that used to fit and none of them

Getting out and about after laparoscopy
Hi, I'm due to have a diagnostic laparoscopy just before Christmas. I have had booked some theatre tickets for months as a 'thing to look forward to after surgery', but now my surgery date has been moved to the day before! I know I will have to take it easy, but do you think I'd be able to manage a couple

What are people’s experiences of staying in hospital after laparoscopy that involves adhesiolysis?
How long have people stayed in hospital after their laparoscopy for excision and bowel and womb seperation? What did you pack in your hospital bag? Were you take enough things to be prepared to stay in for a few days even if you went in hospital as a day case patient. How do you all manage your endo

Couple of photos from Julie LVA treatment in Oxford done by Alex Ramsden and Dominic Furnis. xx
This was taken 2 days after my LVA surgery, I am now on day 5 and all good, feeling confident this has worked, I really hope so, I have my stocking on a toilet roll holder (not used I will add although I have put a plastic bag over the holder just in case, teehee) just to stretch it for when I put it

What is exploding head syndrome?
Have just been surprised by an item on the Guardian newspaper website. Although probably off-topic, the number of weird-and-wonderful symptoms reported is huge. I can't honestly remember either of these being mentioned - but I could easily have missed them. And how awful if there were a thyroid connection

Lump under Laparoscopy scar
I had a Lap in January this year. I have noticed that I have a lump under the incision in my belly button. It doesn't hurt. But I am having combined surgery in December and don't want this to be a complication. Does anyone have any idea what this could be or is it normal scar tissue? TIA xx

Strange mark
Does anyone know what this is? I noticed it this evening because it was slightly itchy. It looks like a blood blister but is more red. I did have several bouts of severe eczema towards the end of last year and the beginning of this one and it was much worse on my legs than anywhere else. It's not sore
