Scar advice

I had my operation end of August but my scar is still really sore. I did have a wound infection that was treated with iv antibiotics. But four months on the scars still sore to touch, still really red and itches. Any advice? I’ve never had this problem with any other scars. Seems a long time to still be healing.

Have you tried vitamin e or aloe? I've been using that on my angry scar from my gallbladder removal and its helped a lot.

Personally I’d want to ask the nurse at my surgery to check that out, because you’ve said it’s still sore to touch. Mine definitely were not like that.

Yeah none of my others have ever been like that. Think I’ll book an appointment just incase. It hurts if my trousers sit on it and if I touch it it’s really sore.

If it’s red, sore, and itches, I’d get it checked out. You may still have a lingering infection.

Get it checked out, I had one that wouldn't heal and turned out to be a stitch that hadn't dissolved, was removed and healed up nice xxx

Once checked out and no longer sore I recommend extra virgin olive oil which will work a treat if you don’t want to put anything unnatural on your skin. Alternatively bio oil helps them fade nicely - you can’t even see my scars now. Xx

Sole ( so lay) water. (Himalayan salt and filtered water) on a pad of cotton should help. Do get it checked out though. Xxx
