CSR a year on
Hi, about a year ago I posted about my distorted vision and fear of having WetAMD. A year on and numerous visits to opticians and hospitals it’s definitely Chronic CSR, including the original & current episode I’ve had 4 occurrences in 12 months, 1 with no visual effects and 1 with very minor distortion

Redness on scrotum
Hi all, I’m new to forum. I’m 20 and I noticed a reddish patch on my scrotum. Not sure what it is, not itchy or scaly. Could be a form of jock itch? If you know more, please write back!! Thank you.

Deep infiltrating endometriosis
Hi everyone. I just had my first proper consultation with an endometriosis specialist and after doing an internal examination and listening to my case history he found a thickened area of tissue and thinks I have ‘deep infiltrating endometriosis’ (or DIE as he wrote in big capital letters on my information

Constant lower gut pain.
I ignored the pain for over a month but can't any longer. My lower gut is hurting. I had a flare of mouth ulcers and around the same time every time I eat, even something as bland as split pea soup, my gut burns. Even after some time there is always a dull ache. Have to see a gastroenterologist real

Itchy scars (one in particular)
I had my laparoscopy about 4/5 months ago and the last few days I’ve noticed one of my scars is getting rather itchy. 2 of them tend to be a little itchy from time to time but this has turned up a notch. I forget and give it a good scratch and then it hurts. The stitches where done too tightly where

Post partial thyroidectomy - symptoms again
Hi all I’m new here, I had a partial thyroidectomy (R half) in June 2014. Had a really fast growing cyst, it grew over 4cms in six months and after several biopsies came back inconclusive/suspicious they decide to operate. Post op I needed no treatment or meds as apparently the remaining half is functioning

Elective Caesarean on the NHS
Has anyone opted for a caesarean? I'm 33 weeks pregnant and off to see my consultant later and want to request to book a date for a c-section. Baby is currently transverse so there is no way he'll be delivered vaginally if he stays in this position, but even if he moves head down I really don't want

Life insurance (Update)
Around a year ago I wrote asking about taking out life insurance post transplant. Most insurance companies won't want anything to do with us due to being considered high risk from the transplant and medications that go with it. I have however found a policy from MetLife called MultiProtect which covers

Self-confidence..
I am lacking confidence in what I am trying to accomplish from my daily life to my medical journey.. It happens when I feel sick or tired.. Then I tend to procrastinate and postpone things to do... I tend to doubt.. It’s ok I know I must pull through, not let it slide.. I need reminding of the beauty

Pregnancy and epilepsy
Hello, I wondered if anyone could give me some advice.. I'm loosing myself just now through stress and other people's opinions. My partner and I found out we were pregnant a few months ago. It wasn't planned and we were trying to be as careful as we could. I am epileptic, I was on sodium valporate

Possibility it's more then just anxiety/depression
I just wanted to check in with everyone and let them know that I am finding out that I probably have Fluoroquinolone Toxicity which can cause anxiety/depression. If you have ever taken any of the following: ciprofloxacin (Cipro), gemifloxacin (Factive), levofloxacin (Levaquin), moxifloxacin (Avelox

Ocd lapse, sad, optimistic, need support
Recovering from an ocd lapse. Taking it a day at a time and trying to stay focused but it's a struggle sometimes. I'm better than 2 months ago. I get anxiety when i get a bad thought and my ocd doesn't just let it go. Thoughts are just thoughts. I'm on 50mg of luvox its helping. But i would like reassurance

New scotoma after pregnancy-induced CSR?
At the beginning of my third trimester of pregnancy I developed central serous retinopathy in my left eye, age 39. I was told to wait it out until 1-2 months postpartum since it usually resolves itself at this time, but was still over 4 months of fluid on my retina and I had a great worsening of things

Adalimumab
Having had little success with methotrexate, followed by SSZ and HCQ, my lovely rheumatologist has suggested I start on Adalimumab (Humira), at the end of November, bloods and chest x ray permitting. Do any of you helpful lot take it on it's own, as my consultant indicated that, due to my poor results
