A DAY AT THE COAST

Hi everybody, I hope you are all keeping as well as you can. My granddaughter and I have spent a wonderful day at the coast (Whitby). Making sure I was going to be warm, I had 3 layers plus my new super warm parka from Marks and Sparks, which I can highly recommend for staying warm!!! The weather has been lovely today the sun was shining on us all day!! So after walking along the pier, it was time for a fish, chips, bread and butter dinner with side orders of baked beans and curry sauce, a pot of tea and a pot of coffee oh it was soo nice. Then we hit the amusement arcades, well you have to don"t you? Then a walk over the bridge, past all the lovely little shops and down to the other pier, oh and the tide was going out so we had a walk on the sand looking for shells and shaped stones, to see the joy in my granddaughters eyes when she discovered a shell or a piece of glass or pottery, as I told her they could have started their journey in China! Then it was a long walk back to the car, making a stop off at an icecream shop for a bubblegum flavoured one for her and a rum and raisin for me! We eventually got home at 6pm, feeling all the better for the sea air, oh and I stayed cosy warm in my new coat. Anyway that"s all for now, and don"t forget, smile and wave folks, smile and wave xxxxx

Sounds like you had a great day, I’ve only ever been to Whitby once but it was an amazing place, best fish and chips I’ve ever had. As a child my husband went there for lots of family holidays.
