Blood tests with cold?
Hi folks - a quick query that I wonder if anyone can advise on: I’m due to have blood test at my GP tomorrow morning but I’ve a bit of a cold. Do you think this will influence the results? Thank you 😊 Ps I’ve Hashimotos and the tests are for Vit d, thyroid and cholesterol

Children returning to school?
In September we’re told we must send our 5 year old back to school for year 1. Do you think it’s ok to allow our child to return to school? We all know that if there’s one sure fire way of getting a cold or flu, when our kids return to school. Do we have to return them to school and if you have kids

Article performing a clinical trial using T3-sulphate instead of T3 alone in a combination T4/T3 setting
This article has tested the stability in use of T3-sulphate rather than T3 alone for combination therapy. The T3-sulphate gives a much more even response than T3 only, and lowers the "spiking" seen shortly after taking.

Flu Jab Text
Hubby was sent a text which recommends the flu jab. It has a long link for further reading which looks to me like a twitter link - and as his phone isn't a smart phone (he is BLIND!), what exactly is he supposed to do?

Asthmatic and Recurrent Bronchitis
For the last few years my asthma hasn't been well managed. It was following several bouts of chest infections, i never fully recovered and haven't felt "normal" since... My doctor referred me to a specialist as they ran out of ideas. At the specialist clinic I had a spirometer test (back in september

Referral update
Today I got a phone call from the hospital asthma nurse, after being referred back to them by my GP asthma nurse. Was a mixed call... Firstly, she said she was ringing because clinic are not taking referrals at the moment. I thought great!!!! 😡 I’m like ‘what’s the point of writing to my GP to say re-refer

lady gaga has fibro
I see that lady gaga has fibro. I wonder if she has checked all her thyroid panel properly. I suppose with her money that she can afford to do that. My cousin had fibro and died of diabetes and heart failure. I always wonder if the fibro was the cause of it. https://www.medpagetoday.com/blogs/celebritydiagnosis

After effects of pneumonia
Hello, sorry this is a bit of a moan / question post! My dad is currently in hospital. He choked on some food at his nursing home which lead him to stop breathing & then having to be resuscitated after a suspected cardiac arrest (a week and a half ago) He was given strong antibiotics after the incident

help needed with a deep hacking phlegmy cough.
I have had this deep hacking cough for 18 months. In all seasons, indoors and outdoors. Often I will bring up thick phlegm. It sounds like a smokers cough and I do not smoke and live in a smoke-free environment. I also wheeze. I have Asthma so my RT increased my Fluticasone puffer to 2 puffs 2 x

Cold showers - good or bad?
Before I was diagnosed I'd have a hot shower then turn the shower to cold for 2 mins. The theory was it might boost my immune system. With CLL tho I figure the immune system is in overdrive anyway so I don't do it. Does anyone know if this makes sense or otherwise? Thanks

Pitting Edema from heart failure?
I saw the infectious disease specialist today for my cellulitis. He said that the pitting edema on both my legs is not from the cellulitis. He said it's either from liver, kidney or heart. Last week my cardiologist changed my heart med from cardizem to verapamil because he thought the edema might be
