GP told me to self isolate 2 more weeks?
So I self isolated for 14 days as my wife has Covid-19 symptoms. At the the time I was waiting to see if my asthma condition was going be on the high risk group or not, and I was due to return to work the next day. So I emailed my GP who looked at my notes and replied I should isolate for 2 more weeks

Help! So cold I wanna eat but will break my calorie limit!
Typically my boiler has broken so no hot water or heating! Boiler company say because of the virus they won't come out for at least three weeks! I'm soooo cold it's me want to snuggle under the blankets in bed with lots of warm comfort foods! I am trying to hold out to dinner time in two hours time!

Experiences of a chest infection/pneumonia caused by preventer inhaler?
I was just wondering if anyone has experienced anything similar... I have asthma which is triggered by viral infections. On a day to day basis I’m fine and I generally do not need to take a preventative inhaler, although I am prescribed one just in case. The asthma nurse advised that I only take a

Recurrent Cryptogenic Organising Pneumonia COP
I have had 2 attacks of Recurrent Cryptogenic Organising Pneumonia COP in the last few years. My lungs are OK at the moment, but I know if it recurs I will need high doses of steroids to treat it. I know need to take great care because of my likelihood of suffering severely if I develop Covid19 but

Why Medicine is still strugling to establish the mode of COVID-19 transmission clearly?
The well known mode of transmission is aresol droplets that would explain pneumonia, thus justifying social distancing. But the surface contact which enter through nose and mouth via hand does not supported by symptoms, there is no instant flu or diarrheal symptoms. Are the virus air borne for long

Cough
I've developed a cough in the last hour or so. I have had a sore throat for around 24 hours, I'm not sure whether its an asthma cough as we have been cleaning a lot more this week than usual. My question is: I'm not sure whether or not my partner should be kept off of work or not. We live together, and

Have others heard from the government about being classed as vulnerable because they have CLL?
My husband has CLL (diagnosed 13 years ago, on watch and wait for the first 9 years) and has been on the Flair trial, taking ibrutanib since June 2016. At the moment his levels are good but in August 2016 he had fungal pneumonia and this time last year had pneumonia again. He also had to have a pleural

Sinus pain or gca
My husband (78) has had a really bad cold/cough for 8 days now. He keeps complaining of a sore scalp and a niggly pain on left side of head. 4am I phoned 111. Said I was scared he may have gca. They said it was probably sinus pain. Got through to gp and she is sending antibiotics. Can sinus pain be in

How to care for cancer patient when I have a cold
Hello, I'm new here. I am caring for my husband who has just started his cancer (Barrett's Esophagus) treatment this Monday (3 radiotherapy sessions and 1 chemotherapy so far). I am devastated, I had a sore throat on Sunday night, then had a cold! I can hear that he had a slight cough once or twice today

hydroxychloroquine - again
(This is not about whether or not hydroxy helps against Covid19). I'm recently diagnosed and was worried about starting hydroxy as I thought it was immune suppressing but as per a post on here today and my telephone call with the rheumatology nurse, hydroxy is NOT immune suppressing and does not make

CORONA AND ANXIETY
Last Sunday, I called the hotline for Covid19. I caught a cold after I went in a place that was a hotspot for that virus. I thought (hello anxiety) I had it. The guy I talked to told me that I just had to stay at home then quarantine myself. So I did. For a week, I obsessively monitored my temp and checked

I am beginning to wonder if the coronavirus has been active much longer than admitted?
A week in November I went down very quickly, followed by my girlfriend a day later, with what we thought was flu. We didn’t get out of bed or eat anything for six days with a cough that drove us to distraction. In december i lost my sweet dear father who didn’t respond to antibiotics and a ventilator
