Flu Jab Text

Hubby was sent a text which recommends the flu jab. It has a long link for further reading which looks to me like a twitter link - and as his phone isn't a smart phone (he is BLIND!), what exactly is he supposed to do?

Hi Elsie,

Just give your surgery a ring. Mine has a list and ring you when it is your turn. Yours Marigot have a different system, but if you are recommended to have one, they are usually the ones that administer it.

Could you not Google the information for him if you want to investigate it? I personally wouldn't bother regarding the flu jab but then I've had them before so maybe more blasé about it!

Gp surgeries contact you via phone, letter or email. I'd say ignore this as it probably leads to a commercial link trying to convince you stocks are low and you must buy early from them! Ha!

I agree this sounds dubious, but in other contexts my surgery does text - and doesn’t use email, which I find irritating!

I had a text too about flu jab, the link I had was just info about the jab. My surgery always texts and tbh I find it better now I’m used to it! Seemed odd at first but I get helpful reminders

At the moment there is nothing happening with flu jabs yet. But your surgery will be getting intouch near the time.

Ring your surgery up and ask them if its from them and mention if it is that links are no good to your husband as he is blind and hant got a smart phone. They soon be able to tell you if they sent or not to be on save side don't click on it just incase its a con .

I too had a text this afternoon about the flu jab, with a link for more information which I was unable to open. So phoned the surgery to get whatever information was in the link. It was to tell me appointment has been made for 5th of September, and to ask what time I would

prefer. Hope this takes some of the stress from anyone who is worried about the link.
