"Taking vitamin D supplements could slow or even reverse the progression of less aggressive, or low-grade, prostate tumors"
March 22, 2019 "Hollis wondered if giving these men vitamin D supplements during the 60-day waiting period would affect their prostate cancer. His previous research had shown that when men with low-grade prostate cancer took vitamin D supplements for a year, 55 percent of them showed decreased Gleason

Good Morning All I was lucky enough to be able to attend the meeting @ Artizan Library yesterday in London and learned lots from Dr Kate Gilbert. Glad to hear PMR & GCA are becoming of interest to researchers. I think some well known celeb or royal needs to get it for it to become a fashionable disease

Hi from down under.
I was referred to a urological surgeon and in August underwent a
radical
prostatectomy
done by the da Vinci method. Unfortunately the Gleason score was increased to 9 and was told I had an advanced and aggressive cancer. My post op psa dropped to 0.03 from a pre op reading of 6.5.

New study below [1]. 15 years ago, with the immediate failure of my prostatectomy, Lupron was offerred as an option. Having read a large number of papers where ADT mostly failed within 18-24 months, & being only 56 at the time, I was puzzled why anyone would rush into a short-lasting palliative therapy

My experience with prostate cancer
I was diagnosed with prostate cancer a year ago. I went to my GP in January 2018 to report a problem with frequent urination. He did a DRE and recommended my having a PSA test. The result was a count of 7.8, high enough to warrant a biopsy. I was offered the biopsy, but I refused, arguing that the MRI

Revisiting a Question on Tx
A couple of weeks ago I sought opinions on whether to move ahead with Lupron and radiation to prostate bed and lymph nodes based on my status at the time: I was Dx'd July of '18 with a Gleason of 7 (3+4), bilateral with perineural invasion. No extraprostatic invasion. Stage 2a. My prostatectomy was

Making decisions and trying not be fearful
Last Saturday, I started Humira which for me personally makes me nervous. I have had two injections in my SI joint (left and right side) Over the last two weeks which I was hoping would be helpful. Have not notice any noticeable changes yet as it is still difficult to lay on either side while sleeping

Potential.
For 9 years I suffered without diagnosis. Trying to do life, falling down literally, inevitably hurting myself bad eventually. Since receiving a diagnosis a little over 15 months ago changed everything. I had a reason I was a cripple and it wasn;t self-inflicted. My life had literally been put on hold
