UCLA is expanding access to the Ga-68-PSMA-11 PET scan
They have announced expanded access to the PET scan until the FDA approves it, hopefully by this summer. The PET scan is available to all patients with diagnosed prostate cancer. The prices differ slightly according to the patient's current situation. The current wait time for appointments is 2-3 weeks

Hi everyone - can I ask for some advise please. My mum had a radical hysterectomy 11th feb and was diagnosed with Stage 1C1 ovarian cancer for the removal of a 22cm mass in 1 ovary. She has had no further treatment. Everything has been fine until the last week where she is saying she has a lot of pressure

Does this study which predicts BCR for all post RP guys with a uPSA of 0.03 or higher apply to intermediate and low-risk RP guys also?
This factor enables critical decisions on the timing of and indication for postoperative radiotherapy in patients at high risk after

Is the risk of BCR 50% for post RP guys with a uPSA of 0.01 as this study suggests?
MATERIALS AND METHODS: We identified 247 patients at high risk with a median followup of 44 months who underwent
radical
prostatectomy
from 1991 to 2013. Each patient had extraprostatic extension and/or a positive margin.

Swallowing and Throat issues
I have been experiencing a weird sensory trigger in my throat any time the PD medication (C/L) is wearing off. The same sensation is relieved as the next medication dose kick me back. It cause me an uncontrollable and annoying clearing the throat reflex that is driving nuts to me and my relatives.

Night Time Pains !!
Hello everyone, I was wondering if anyone else experiences severe pains at nighttime due to Endo? I take strong pain killers, cramp medications and antispasmodics. I use a hot water bottle and have invested in a electronic heat pad. Nothing seams to work, i usually end up crying myself to sleep.

7 Weeks Post Surgery Update
Hello Everybody, 7 weeks after having robotic assisted laparoscopic
radical
prostatectomy
, all is well. Fully continent, both nerves spared, a clean final pathology report, no spread outside the prostate, and a 6 week PSA test reading that is negligible. Next follow-up PSA test is in 3 months.

Low Dose Tetrahydrocannabinol and Melatonin for Better Sleep and Cognitive Function
Hello HealthUnlocked Members, I have been on ADT continuously since February 2016 and in general I have tolerated Lupron fairly well to date. The hot flashes have diminished in frequency and intensity over time and bone density is normal for my age (65 years). I have found that exercise, keeping cool

More advice please
Can I ask if anybody S taking Adcal D3 along with Pred? My GP has asked me to consider taking it. It's a calcium carbonate and vitamin D3 chewable obtained under prescription. However it does come with side effects. I am already taking Vitamin d tablets along with calcium from the local health shop daily

Covid19 hysteria delaying radiation
Hi everyone, I had prostatectomy winter 2019 and began Lupron Jan 2020. Gleason 9 and spread to 1 lymph node. PSMA scan was clean. Was to start 40 rounds of radiation last Tuesday but in consult with several of my oncologists we postponed due to virus risks traveling back and forth from Brooklyn to

Health Risks Associated With Long-Term Finasteride and Dutasteride Use: It's Time to Sound the Alarm
New paper below, [1]. Nalakrats & I believe there is a role for a 5-alpha reductase inhibitor in advanced PCa. Some disagree. I would be remiss if I didn't point out that long-term use (as with all PCa drugs) has a downside: "This treatment may result in development of non-alcoholic fatty liver diseases

Medical Marijuana and RLS
I've had medical marijuana for several years for RLS and restless whole body, and other physical pain. lve tried several different kinds but it doesnt really help me, it just makes me high like it did when l was a kid. However l know how it can help you to relax, which can lessen the anxiety and stress

End to active surviellance
I have been on active surveillance for eleven years. That has now ended. For the last couple of years my PSA has been slowly rising, doubling time, 3.0 to 7.5 over 11 years. I switched treatment centers to Barnes Jewish/Wash U in St. Louis (due to relocation not an issue with my previous treatment
