Emjays message to all members. from yesterdays quit support blog. Please respect Emjay at least.
Quit
Support is a stop
smoking
community where members seek support to do exactly that, stop smoking. It may take some people a while but it is hoped that we will help all members to reach their goal - No matter how they get there or how long it takes.

I used to be a very heavy girl but decided to become healthier when I
quit
smoking
and tried to lose weight. After losing two stone I couldn't understand why my stomach was still so big. After trying a serious diet and exercise regime I finally went to the doctor.

Hi! i'm 38 years old. i have quit smoking in October last year, and this had caused me moving from overweight area to obese.
I'm 164 cm, my weight in October last year 75 kilos, and now 83 kilos. i'm really upset and frustrated. my eating habits haven't changed since October, i'm also very active - i jog at least 3 times a week, also do one 10K race a month. but my weight is still going up. i checked my thyroid and results

Should I or shouldn't I? In two minds!
About 20 years ago I tried to
quit
smoking
and had a nervous breakdown within a week of trying.

Getting work as an actress in your late 40s was difficult enough - I dreaded to think what it would be like without any teeth – so I decided to
quit
again. Find a

smoking
at the same time as a friend and we supported each other throughout.

I AM RICH BEYOND MY WILDEST DREAMS .....
To
quit
smoking
for any other reason than yourself is, in my personal opinion, doomed to failure before you’ve left the starting gate so to speak. You and you alone have to want to quit – in the same way that no one can quit for you no one can make you quit.

Tobacco, has left the Building...
Morning to you all, Well, that's the first 24 hours, and feeling quite okay really. I just had to get tobacco, papers, Lighters etc out of the house/garage/Car. I've been scared to do that. (What if I wake up during the night and I desperately need a ciggie...)? However, I've given it all away

IS IT JUST ME? Serious question and would really, really appreciate any help; advice or answers.
I'm now on day 16 and whilst my brain seems to have accepted the fact that I no longer smoke / do not want to smoke / do not need to smoke, it seems that my body and bodily functions are not in agreement as they refuse to accept that they are no longer going to get regular fixes of nic and other chemicals

And so far, thanks to all of you, I’ve had 15 and each and every one has been so special – just like you all are. Today, I am 85 - erh can’t be I know I feel that age some days but think I had better look again - ahh that explains it – sorry folks, looking in the mirror so it’s the wrong way round

Not really sure what I'm going to write...
... Just kinda staying in touch really. So good to to read other folks generous blogs too. I'm still smoking between two & five roll ups a day just now. I seem to have gone backwards instead of forwards. A bit sad too, as two weeks ago I'd managed to have a full 7 days without any smokes at all. I've

Oh dear...
Yesterday - roll ups = 2, Gill = 0. Therefore not good at all. Off for Chest X-ray today, maybe that might knock some sense into me. I saw an article on here from one of the advisors - it was Very interesting. All about the addiction of Acetaldehyde in tobacco, this too helps keep us addicted seemingly

Just got my new MTB (a reward for getting this far... using the money I've saved on cigarettes since I
quit
smoking
at Xmas). It's all pink, white and flowery!!! They didn't have any suitable serious colour bikes for women. Have to laugh...

Hi, I'm new here!
Tried to
quit
smoking
two weeks ago cos my wheezing was so bad I couldn't even cross the road, get upstairs...anything. Got to day 10 and BANG - floods of tears,I wanted to die etc. How much more do I have to take? I'm now 56 and this has ruled/ruined my life.

We Quit Together
The tiny red toy was what I got at todays

Nicotine Addiction ! Interesting article on why it is hard to stop AND why its worth it .
A review of
smoking
studies in people that had no desire to
quit
showed that cutting down often led to complete cessation
