Phase 1 trial participation Nurix NX-1607
I have not been on any treatment since I stopped Docetaxel chemo last year except Prostap injections every 12 weeks. My PSA went up from ~9 to 20 from May to September. I have just been invited to take part in a phase 1a safety and tolerability study of NX-1607. It aims to inhibit CBL-B (Casitas B-lineage

Anti-Androgen Therapy and Bone Tumors in Prostate Cancer
Sorry guys, but I found this and all I can say is it scared the hell out of me. Now I don't know what to think. Maybe someone can sort it out. https://journals.lww.com/oncology-times/fulltext/2021/08050/anti_androgen_therapy_can_fuel_spread_of_bone.16.aspx Jeff Dunn AO, Professor and CEO of the Prostate

how to reduce chemo side effects
I will be starting chemo for my prostate cancer in the next few weeks. Any suggestions as to cooling hats, gloves, and/or socks or other ways to reduce the side effects of chemo. What has been your experience with chemo side effects or your endeavors to reduce them? I expect I will be getting a regimen

Earlier surrogates of overall survival to speed up new drugs development
there are statisticians (using AI) that are trying to find even earlier predictors to speed up the progress but it seems that progression free survival could already save 2 years for a new drug to be available on the market https://www.pcf.org/news/new-prostate-cancer-foundation-funded-research-to-speed-up-prostate-cancer-clinical-trials-worldwide

Lupron Injection denied by Medicare Advantage PPO plan
My husband will need Lupron injections monthly x4. Two before starting radiation, and 2 during radiation treatment. The insurance, Medicare Advantage PPO, denied it. Anyone successfully appealed the denial? Any suggestions from the group? I checked and Medicare part D covers Lupron for the treatment

Holding very low stable usPSA - 0.03X range for six years; no ADT, no chemo.
Eight years ago this month had RP after considerable investigation - nadir 0.050. Eleven months later had salvage RT; done at 0.10. Then after a year of pondering ADT and chemo, when my usPSA was back up to 0.10, I went to Europe for Ferrotran nano-MRI combined with Ga68 PSMA. The nanoMRI lite up

At last!
Sooooooo happy! Had my appointment at the hospital today and my consultant finally agreed after 20 horrible long years to put me on the list for a total hysterectomy. Continuing Prostap and Evorell patches till then, but the papers are all signed. So relieved. I really thought he was going to fob me

More Evidence Linking ADT for PCa to Adverse Neurocognitive Effects -Meta-analysis shows increased risk of dementia, Parkinson's, depression
As if we needed more reasons to dislike or avoid ADT, here is additional evidence of negative neurocognitive effects. This MedPage Today article will expecially be of special interest to those of us well into our "Golden Years" and on or considering ADT.

Statin use and mortality risk in men on ADT.
New ADT study from Hong Kong (1). "A total of 4920 patients were included, consisting of 2578 statin users and 2342 non-users (mean age 76.1 ± 8.2 years). Over a mean follow-up period of 4.2 ± 3.3 years, it was observed that statin users had significantly lower risks of both PCa-related mortality

Bleeding after endo surgery
hello everyone, I recently had my second laparoscopy on the 27th July and they removed endo, adhesions and scar tissue. I’ve been recovering and the first couple of days I had bleeding which was said to be expected. Yesterday I started bleeding again with the worst pain, I’m still on prostap and my

Divergent second opinion
My husband was recently diagnosed with PCa with 6-7 mets to the bones as seen on the PSMA Pet scan (see profile for details), The first MO we met at an NCCN center recommended triplet therapy. He has started Firmagon + Darulotomide with Docetaxel planned in the coming weeks. We also got a second opinion

PC no longer castrate resistant
Hello all, my latest pet/ct scan indicates my PC is no longer castrate resistant as there is new disease growth in my lungs. Largest lesion is 2.5 centimeters. I'm no longer taking xtandi, so it can be "washed out" of my system prior to new treatment, however I'm still getting quarterly lupron shots
