My update, progress! Please read
Hi all, so I got a letter today asking for a retest as my prolactin is high ...750 mu/l (less than 600) this would explain everything! My TSH is between 1.4 and 1.9 in the last 6 months. But my ft4 was slightly below range 11.5(12-22) and now after 8 weeks of thyroxine it's 17. So definitely helping

I Don't Have A Thyroid Problem After All But I'm
.. still suffering from under-active thyroid symptoms after extensive tests and discussion with my GP. I haven't written for a while because I wanted to report back with my experiences to give the full picture. I decided to approach the situation as if I didn't suspect I had thyroid problems

A cause of elevated serum thyroid-stimulating hormone (TSH) concentration
I have several times pointed out that macro-TSH can result in TSH test results which are higher than they should be. I had thought this issue was both well-known (among biochemists/lab scientists, at least) and that many or all testing facilities had taken steps to overcome the problem

Just got my levels and wondered if anyone can comment on them as all seems normal but have all the symptoms of being hypothyroid!
Hi again, I am feeling quite desperate with the symptons I have and thought I would have some thyroid deficiency which would have given some hope to feeling better (low temperature all day, carpel tunnel, hair loss, painful heels, aching muscles feeling tired - symptoms of being hypothyroid) but it

I was put on Domperidone for gastroperesis. I kept getting very swollen sore breasts and also muscle spasms. My doctor said it is caused
by prolactin in the pituatery gland. I have already been told my pituatary is sluggish even though my thyroid is within normal limits albeit high. I wonder if they should examine my pituatary with all these strange symptoms?

Test results imply all is normal but my symptoms are so debilitating and similar to hypothyroid. Does anyone have any ideas?
For several years now and all starting at roughly the same time I have had carpel tunnel, pain and stiff fingers on waking and getting worse. Also my feet hurt around my heels but feels like bone pain, now getting worse and have stiff shoulders/muscles. I feel the cold, my hair is getting thinner though

Breast tenderness -- why it's been causing me so much grief!!
Hi there I wrote a question yesterday regarding some pain/swelling in the area above my clavicle. Luckily my GP has said it's nothing more than a very large cyst normally associated with the menstrual cycle. That got me thinking and so I found something that seems to make perfect sense to me.

Any males with raised prolactin treated it on its own?
Hi All, Undiagnosed 28 year old male here, not on any thyroid meds. I'm in process of getting more tests ( adrenal, rt3) to my current thyroid labs, but I had my prolactin come back very high. High prolactin can cause all sorts of sexual symptoms, anyone lowered that directly? I have some prolactin

I think my daughter may have a thyroid problem, she has finally had an initial blood test which showed raised prolactin and a TSH of 2.5
My daughter (aged 33) is currently teaching English in Spain, so is seeing her Spanish GP & Endo. She has many of the symptoms of Hypothyroidism and I've been at her for ages to get it checked out - unexplained weight gain, numerous infections, hair loss, pins & needles in her hands, lack of energy

Thyroid results but no ranges given! Is there a standard range available?
Sigh, so I got my results ( I have no diagnosis of hypothyroid but just a lot of symptoms including muscle/joint pain, fatigue & weight gain). The thyroid appears normal as there are no flags but I was also NOT given ranges! TSH - 2.31 mU/L Free T4 -16.3 pmol/L Free T3 - 4.8 pmol/L Other

Trying really hard to keep a grip. Feel like I'm always moaning on here, so sorry!
Feel like this is the only place I can say what's happening and how I feel. Kind of reaching the end of the road. Endo just phoned to say all tests are normal - Selenium - well in range, prolactin normal, Lyme disease - negative(although he did say it doesn't mean a future test wouldn't show a positive
