Had the 6 month check up consult with my consultant yesterday and liver wise all seems stable CP A meld 6

No too happy with him though.

Luckily I asked for a print out of my blood results and when I got home I noticed a few were "off"

He did not mention those but I took the result form to my GP today and they are into the type 2 diabetes range!

Bad miss for a consultant!!!

I agree this should not happen. It’s quite scary what might have been missed in the past, but now we can see our records at least we are getting a better picture. It’s happened to me.You really have to push now to get things done correctly.

hey Roy. I read your past posts. Been on here close to two years. Im 39 and had a kpa of 18.7 and started at meld 6 but 6 months ago went up 1 or 2 points but the specialist said it fluctuates constantly over days. Mine is from alcohol which I haven’t touched since the docs told me I had some liver damage.

Did I read right, you had a kpa of 27ish and are consistently at a meld 6? What on earth are you doing to keep your blood levels in such great standing? Are you exercising a ton, go vegetarian or what?

Just gave up booze and constantly been CpA and Meld 6 since diagnosis, almost 6 years now.Never had major symptoms, no medication, just tiredness.

Luckily in a position to give up work and rest when my body says so.

Well overweight and not exercising but need to change that now because of diabetic diagnosis.

Just lucky I suppose but keeping off the booze seems to have stopped it getting worse.

Currently on high fat, high protine, very low carb diet (keto).

Check with your Dr before trying that.
