Once IgG transfusions start, must they continue for the rest of my life
My IgG is 330 mg/dL at the moment , feel fine and have not been getting sick or infections. My doctor told me this morning that if my IgG goes below 300, then I should get an IgG transfusion. My question is; I had thought that once one starts transfusions, then typically, one must continue with such

Low haemoglobin and iron tablets
I’m not sure where to post this. I had an operation where I suffered a bleed resulting in low haemoglobin. I had 2 blood transfusions and iron infusion. I was then given iron tablets. But my haemoglobin is back to normal now. All my iron results are high and my folate in low normal. Awaiting more blood

Who is that in my head?...
I felt compelled to reach out and discuss where I am at in my recovery and see if others have been down this road... 18 months ago I attempted suicide - I had lacerations to my wrist and neck and had to receive a double blood transfusion. I called the emergency services after briefly gaining conciseness

Bleeding in stomach ICU, doctors pessimistic to contine
Hi. My dad has been in ICU for a few weeks due to covid. He has made progress in that his sedation was lowered to nothing and fentynal pain relief dropped to nothing too. He is at the stage where they were talking about trachey sprints to take him off the ventilator as he is spontaneously breathing ok

Desperate for answers please...
Hi all. My 85yo Dad is now in a critical condition. He has rampant hemalosis, hemoglobin of 70, extreme fatigue and as of today, excrutiating pain in his back, groin and scrotum, with black urine. Scan ruled out kidney stones, doctors unsure of the cause. 2 doses of Obinutuzimab and Chlorambucil plus

High alkaline phosphatase
I was mostly quite pleased with my blood results today and I don't need a transfusion this week. However, my liver function is not so great with the alkaline phosphatase having increased to 375 after going down at my last blood test. It was one of the haematology nurses that told me and when I was concerned

85 year old not coping with nor responding to treatment
Hi, I am new. My Dad has CLL which has just become symptomatic after 5 years. He has had 3 treatments of Obinutuzimab and Chlorambucil , the first one made him so ill he was rushed to ICU. Now he seems to have hemalosis, as his RBC is very low at 70 and will not increase even after 8 blood transfusions

Possibility of a link...PBC, Anemia, Adenocarcinoma
When I last checked in I was on a new course of Fenofibrate along with Ursadiol. The Fenofibrate continued to keep my numbers in a good range with no apparent side effects. I wanted to let you know about another serious health issue I am dealing with. I was diagnosed with PBC in 2012. At the same time

Six month bleed
Hi, I am new here and have been struggling recently as I have been having a menstrual bleed for six months. A quarter of the time, it is spotting but the rest of the time it is a regular flow or very heavy. I have seen my GP who has been quite dismissive as my iron and haemoglobin levels are normal.

Myelofibrosis - thank you for the support
A few days ago I posted about my new diagnosis of post ET Myelofibrosis and I just want to say thank you for all the responses and support I received. Without this forum I would feel quite lost. I'm feeling absolutely exhausted today, as if having my morning shower was enough exertion for one day. However

Husband in hospital update.
My husband was discharged this morning, so pleased to pick him up. Had to throw my dummy out the pram Wednesday. It's been arranged by husband consultant that his HB not to go below 110. Wednesday his HB was 99 so I knew he would need a transfusion within day. Told Nurse I would not pick my husband

Biopsy results
Hi, my boyfriend has CLL and is struggling with his hemoglobin and neutropenia. His numbers are not getting better. Doctors had to give him multiple blood transfusions and neupogen shot. Even with those, the numbers remain low. He is under Venetoclax treatment. Next week will have a bone marrow biopsy

Husband in hospital.
My husband in hospital at moment, he's been in there since Monday. He was really poorly over the weekend. I rang his specialist nurse and explained how he was, and how he been. She rang back within a hour, saying a doctor would see him straight away. So we went to haematology and was seen by the doctor
