Self inflicted back pain. Nurofen or not?
Paracetamol
helping a bit but think I read on here that a blast with nurofen once or twice would be ok? Any thoughts please.

Really struggled with my 5k run this weekend - felt like running through treacle and legs so sore I felt like crying. Woke up on Sunday with flu like virus which in hindsight was brewing on Saturday and would explain why it was so hard - so the lesson for me - sometimes it is ok to stop and I am

Painkiller for after Dental Procedure
So next week I’m going to my dental surgery to get three tooth implants. The first session is when they drill metal rods into the bone. Once the local anaesthetic wears off it’s very painful. I’ve had one done before now this time three at once!! Last time I didn’t know about my CKD so as I can’t take

Muscle Relaxers?
So I think we established that NSAIDs we’re no-gos, with Naproxen the least objectionable and codeine as a possibility for strong pain relief, and
paracetamol
/acetaminophen for regular pain relief. How about muscle relaxants? Are there any that are safe with Afib? Thanks so much!

Update on safe pain relief
Received phone call from Liver Doctor yesterday tea time. I was told that it was safe for me to take up to 3g Paracetemol daily which is up to 6 x 500mg tablets daily. 8mg of Codeine daily can be taken if necessary along with a laxative as it can cause constipation. Tramadol and other Opiates should

Advice on safe pain relief
I was listed for transplant in November 2023. Last week I had a terrible fall. I have one fracture and very painful soft tissue injuries. I was only given some IV paracetemol. I have spoken to my transplant team who are now working out what I can have as they said that there will be something. I have

Am I being crazy?
They gave me some
paracetamol
at the clinic but it didn’t shift it. I do normally get migraines which are connected with my cycle. One normally just after mid cycle and one a couple of days before my period.

Turmeric
I don't take ibuprofen and haven't for years and seldom acetaminophen. I have read that turmeric is an anti-inflammatory. Is it hard on the kidneys?

Valsartan
I started the Valsartan 3 days ago- I wanted it to fit in with my chronic meds, script, having been on the anti-biotic for 5 days (10 day course), and the night after the first one, I woke in agony with pain in my back and legs, same thing last night but controlled by a couple of
paracetamol
tabs.

She began by giving me
paracetamol
and a low dose steroid (prevent inflammation) before numbing up. It wasn’t a pleasant experience but very far from the trauma suffered 54 years ago.

The pain each month is unbearable and I have to take a combination of
paracetamol
and ibuprofen daily to take the edge off the pain. I had a long period of reduced pain because I went on the pill for quite a few years but stopped taking them in my late 30s.

Flare - what next please
CoCodomol helps but not
Paracetamol
. (Danger noted!) ESR - 19.5.23 - awaiting result and will contact GP when I get it. Today: flare (which started in mid-Feb or before) seems much more severe, for example, shoulders are as painful and stiff as before I started on Pred over three years ago.

Mini maze update.
Apologies I know I promised to post updates and haven't. I had my mini maze surgery back in September with the wonderful Mr Hunter on the NHS. I've been in NSR ever since which is amazing as I had moved to persistant Afib and I felt pretty awful all the time before surgery. I am soooo grateful to Mr

14+5 Headaches
I'm trying to limit my use of
paracetamol
and am relying on a 4head stick and migraine strips. Has anyone else experienced this? I'm hoping that sometime can reassure me that it will pass soon! Thank you in advance.
