Blurred vision in left eye and feeling muzzy...
Hi Everyone, Haven't posted for advice/help for a while as things seemed to be going quite well on DL's slow taper: reduced from 15mg to 12 OK and now 3 weeks into 12 - 11. Last week I had a few days sailing and on Thursday took a moderate blow on left temple from the yacht's boom (due to inattention

Topirimate & planning for pregnancy experiences
Hi everyone am new to the forum :) I have had hemiplegic migraines since I was 6 years old with no break and now I am 29 years old. I have tried various medications over the years, from recent memory-triptans, beta blockers and topirimate. Topirimate is the only medicine that has drastically reduced

Headaches?
I seem to wake up every morning with a headache. In fact it it seems to have become the norm as I can't remember a time I didn't have a headache upon waking. Doesn't matter how much or little sleep I've had, the amount of fluids I've consumed. It seems perfectly normal to me, that one of the first things

I graduated on Sunday!
Finally! For me, this is actually the second time I graduated. I started during the first lockdown last year. I then got Covid, so had to stop, then restart. Spring 2020 also coincided with my moving to a different area, so with all the prepping for moving, I did not complete it until after the move.

Tough 2WW
Hi, this is more of a rant really, just looking for anyone that’s going or been through similar for some morale support. I’m 6dpt, had some cramps for the first 3 or 4 days, over the weekend I had a really sore throat and stuffy nose, Saturday night started to get a headache and spent all day yesterday

Does anyone have experience of lung problems as a symptom of GCA?
I have had PMR for three years, and am almost off Prednisolone with no return of the original pre-diagnosis symptoms. I have been in hospital twice since the end of July with ‘community acquired pneumonia’ ….tho I have never had any chest/breathing problems/weakness in my life and am still very careful

I really have had enough!
After a very difficult four year journey with PMR, I seemed to have settled down on 5mg and intended staying there for a LONG time. But, PMR has other ideas and I have developed a flare but genuinely don’t know the reason. I’ve had a very quiet week with no excessive exercise but I woke at about 2am

Shingles
I know that this has nothing to do with the heart but I'm struggling to find help from other sources. I have recently had shingles diagnosed and to say its painful is an understatement. My GP has given me medication which is slowly helping but I wondered whether you lovely people had anything that works

Update on my shingles
Beginning my 4th day on antiviral (Aciclovir). Rash and pain not too bad but I don’t know if it is a side effect but during the night, and this morning, I’m running a temperature with a terrible headache😢. I’m taking paracetamol every 4 hours but it’s not really touching it. I’m only on 21/2 mg of pred

Arm pain after angioplasty
10 days after my angioplasty and my bruised arm/wrist is blue instead of the black it was after the procedure. However, the pain hasn't subsided at all and in fact is worse, I can't even brush my teeth without having to stop for a minute or two. Sleeping is difficult as well as I can't rest it anywhere

Things I do to combat migraine.
Hi there, After reading on my news feed recently about a lady who suffers from migraine for up to six weeks at a time, I felt moved to write to the Migraine Trust, in the hope that sharing my own remedies and the preventative actions I have taken to avoid migraine myself, might help her and possibly

Coping with Pred induced drowsiness when driving
A couple of points: First off I was interested to see a comment by Cranberryt yesterday that: “Oh and PMR is absolutely felt in the larger joints as well as muscles”. This I wasn’t aware of and could explain the ache is my right hip. On Wednesday I think I must have somewhat overdone the walking because

Flu jab
Yesterday I went to volunteer at our hospice shop and all the staff had been to the next door chemist to have their flu jab. So I went as well. Woke up at 2am this morning aching all over with a headache. Even paracetamol didn't help. I feel awful. I am doing a slow reduction from 6.5 to 6 and after

Flare up help
Hi, first post 😀 I have recently been told I most probably have fibromyalgia, so I'm new to the world of fibromyalgia but I've been having these symptoms for a long time. They have just got worse in the last year. I am currently having what I'm guessing would be described as a flare up. I can't take
