Hello guys can someone please give me done advice .as I'm going nuts with stress and anxiety regards to this chest pain I'm suffering last 5 months .

The pain is like crushing, pressure like sharp stabbing pain, last 5 months it's constantly on my chest, it goes to my upper back and shoulders, also feel pain on left side where the heart is .

Anyway been to ANE 3 times, 1st time they kept me for 4 days in Bedford hospital and checked me saying maybe had heart attack, they did ECG, Ecogram, angiogram said all of that was fine, chest x ray was fine, also no fluid by heart .

Anyway then they discharge me saying treating it as pericarditis inflammation around the heart, for me to take naproxen or ibuprofen n paracetamol n it should cure it self in 3,4 weeks .

Man got so happy n exited, but this was 3 months ago yet I still differing from chest pain .

Been ANE 3 times more since this, but they keep on saying it's a viral infection and pericarditis, but pain not going .

They say to me have pain killers, and wait for follow up appointment with cardiologist .

Well most recently got a letter for cardiolost appointment, guess what waited 3,4 months for this appointment n it's only on 26 November over the phone .

So upset, scared n frustrated .

Any advice how long this will last ?

Or what I should do??

Thank you guys..

Hi thereSorry to hear this, I share your frustration and anxiety. The same thing has happened to me on and off for 9 months since HA and stents last December. I have been to A&E five or six times, each time it comes back clear saying no heart attack, but no one can tell me what the actual issue is! Not had pericarditis as far as I know but like I say no one can tell me what’s going on.

I get into a cycle of pain/anxiety/pain which is hard to get out of. Am trying to do everything to alleviate stress triggers, eat well, sleep well, walk a lot. But even that doesn’t always keep it at bay.

I have no solutions, but just to say you are not alone! Take care

Could the pain be costochondritis? First time I had it I thought I was having a heart attack - have had it several times and it is very painful. Take care 😃
