As a 77 year old with CLL - diagnosed in 2003 and never treated - currently working in South Greece, and having had my previous jabs here, I managed(at last) to get my 4th Pfizer jab on mid-day Tuesday - 4 months after my third.
After about 5 hours I started to feel ill. As I had felt grim after my third jab, but the grimness had only lasted an afternoon, I took 1000 mg of Paracetamol, turned on the TV and went to bed.
This time it lasted 16 hours - I woke up every half hour to pee. I had pain in every cell in my skin and was screaming (thank God I live alone!).
I'm fine again now but will never submit to a jab again.
Am I the only one?

Hi there,my 2nd booster (4th jab) made me ill for a few days afterwards, the injection itself numbed my arm almost instantly, which was the first time that’s ever happened, then I was quite ill for the next few days,to the point I thought I had Covid again(had a bad bout of it last September ‘21) But full recovered a few days later.
Thanks so much for your response. You've had both real Covid and days of illness after the 4th. Much worse than me. I just want those in charge to know we're not blissfully happy after the 4th and maybe they should look into it.... Stay well!
I had absolutely no reaction to the first two shots and was hoping to get a little chills or fever to know the vaccine was working. I believe that if your body reacts then you are building antibodies. My arm was slightly sore with the third. I am talking to my doctor in the beginning of March and will ask about the fourth shot. I thought it was funny because I wanted a reaction to know it worked and you don’t want another one because you got a reaction
My CLL specialist, Dr. Byrd, does not recommend the 4th shot or 2nd booster for his patients because of adverse reactions being reported. I was prepared to get #4 Pfizer late February until he warned against. I will skip #4. I did get Evusheld, though, at his recommendation. Glad you were able to power through those effects.
I too have had a stronger reaction to the fourth Pfizer I had on Thurs, I felt dreadful yesterday and have woken today with a very sore arm and underarm.
Within an hour of getting the second shot, the left side of my face felt flush and tingly. A few hours later, I lost most of my hearing in my left ear. The ENT doctor who I saw prescribed steroids. After several weeks, I regained most of my hearing (30% hearing loss); however I now have tinnitus in that ear, which has not gone away. I did not get any booster shots after this experience.
I had bad reactions to all 3 Covid vaccinations, very painful underarm swelling for several days each time. Booked in for 4th jab soon, not looking forward to after effects, but know that having CLL and lung problems, my fear of contracting Covid is far, far greater. Hope you've now fully recovered from your after effects. 🌷
I hope your 4th jab will go better than the others, HopefulBunny.
I've just had my 4th (yesterday). No major probs so far - only tiredness (but it's only been 24 hours).
My 1st and 3rd jabs weren't too bad, but I had very high fevers, nausea, shivering and shaking after the 2nd jab. Strange the way these things happen - very unpredictable.
Best wishes,
Paula
First and second shots had me bedridden for a week each. I’ve chosen not to take the jabs. It is up to me to tread more carefully so as not to infect others or become infected. Also, I attempted ibrutinib but nearly died from the experience. It was strongly suggested I try acalabrutinib after months of being treatment free. The experience was at least as bad. It’s been a wild ride but coming off to remember what wellness feels like for several months worked wonders for me. It’s such an individual journey and taking back control over my body and mind has given me a kind of peace that makes it right for me and my family. I am 70 which helped me to make my decision. I wish everyone to get through Cll with as little discomfort and life change as possible 😉
Michele_N, thank you for sharing. We do each need to follow our own spirit of choice, even if it is contrary to the norm.I would never dissuade anyone from accepting a doctor's decision. I'm almost 73
now and in year 3 of watch and wait. I am WATCHING everything and waiting PATIENTLY, feeling good about CLL progress in treatment. But, I sure hope I never need any! Sandra🙂
Thank you for sharing your story. There is one woman in my support group that has to be given extremely low doses of medication because her body over reacts. Glad you are feeling better and staying safe.
I had full body pain after 3rd Pfizer for about 10 hours. I felt like somebody had taken a hammer to every bone in my body. I got the Moderna booster 2 weeks ago and had a similar response though slightly less profuse and shorter duration of pain, but then a lot more fatigue the day after. My arm didn't hurt at all until the 2nd day and that pain increased for a day or two. To me it is worth it if I can give myself a chance of not needing hospitalization should I contract COVID.
Stavropigio, oh, no, you are not the only one. Each of us are different and respond differently to a medicine. I had a terrible reaction to the 2nd moderna, but that doesn't mean it was a terrible thing to get the shot. Talk with your doctor about how you feel. Sandra🙂
