3 weeks post CABG surgery
Looking for a bit of reassurance… My dad had a triple heart bypass 3 weeks ago, all went well apart from starting with a chest infection whilst in ICU. He was given IV antibiotics then oral antibiotics and was discharged after 5 days. He’s been home just over 2 weeks now and has been to the GP and his

PMR vs Fibromyalgia - getting my story straight for doc's appointment.
I need to ask you wise and lovely folks for some input before I go to see the doctor, as soon as I can get an appointment. Every time I have an appointment with a different doc, the discussion gets side tracked by the fibromyalgia talk. I want to be able to stop it in its tracks this time, so that

is everyone else not getting diagnosed or much treatment?
I’ve had severe period pain for years, when I wasn’t taking painkiller in time I would be sick and feel faint. I have tried paracetamol and ibuprofen in the pad which did nothing. I took naproxen 500mg which used to completely block my pain but now only stops it being severe. More recently I’ve been

taking Pred in the night advise please
HI I think I've read all the advice I can find on taking some of the pred dose in the early hours but I wonder if someone would be kind enough to talk through it again I understand that the inflammation is 'shed' in to the body around 2 am ? so taking uncoated pred just before this time can help, but

Turmeric
I don't take ibuprofen and haven't for years and seldom acetaminophen. I have read that turmeric is an anti-inflammatory. Is it hard on the kidneys?

Could it be endometriosis...?
Hi, bit of background - I'm 40, I've been trying to conceive for about 4 years. Started IVF treatment 2 years ago and had 2 failed rounds with the last one being June last year. Since then I've had super super painful periods, almost to the point of passing out with the pain. I get pain in my right upper

Day 9 of head injuryness. It started off tediously and got boringer and boringer from there.
At least my grammar hasn't suffered though. Still here. Feet up on the injury couch, a bag of peas parcel-taped to my head, begging sympathy from the world. I know what you’re thinking. Always the good guys, right? This is day 9 and I’m still knocking back paracetamol like they’re smarties. I’ve

Bit of advice and support
Am in early diagnosis of maybe having fibromyalgia. I have a review next week with the physiotherapy and also the pain clinic. When it was first checked with blood tests my infection markers were slightly raised. Am in so much widespread pain, stiffness. Currently only taking paracetamol for the pain

Let's. Get. Training! Week 1, Rest.
This post is swirling around my head in abstract thoughts like kicked-up leaves in the wind. I’m trying to rake them all together, only for them to scatter again like spores at the slightest agitation. I’m working hard to knit them together, but forgive me if this post is more disjointed than normal.

Weakened hip flexor muscles
After moving to Scotland last year, I asked for referral to a Rheumatologist as I had been having pain in left hip on standing and walking. Was told they didn't deal with PMR left that to Drs. After an X ray of pelvis and hips I was told nothing wrong with hip joint, but my pelvis was tilted and lower

Pegasys Update 1.0
Finally getting around to sharing my experiences of starting Pegasys. First a little background. Over the next three years increasingly struggled with

Poor communication or misunderstanding?
So... I saw my NHS Consultant on Monday about my leg pain and inability to walk when flaring and we discussed my surgery etc and I left the appointment feeling pretty deflated. Long story short she's told me I have to go on the progesterone only pill while I wait for my 1st Lap (hopefully less than 6
