liver enzymes elevated after Urso brand change.
I have had PBC since 2004 with stable liver enzymes until approximately one year ago. I realize it may be disease progression but am wondering because I had an insurance company change just before their elevation and my new insurance company switched me to a different generic brand of ursodiol. Does

Covid and liver pain
Hello Everyone, Does anybody know if having covid puts added stress on the liver? I ask because I've recently had covid with fairly mild symptoms and towards the end of my recovery back to normal, one day I felt some discomfort on the right side around the bottom of my rib cage. I have mild fatty liver

Phase 1 trial: Oncolytic Adenovirus TILT-123 in Advanced Solid Cancers, no prostate cancer but very interesting
Oncolytic viruses are promising! Prostate cancer is a solid tumor with an immune suppressing micro environment but still, also some of the tumores in this phase 1 study are hostile to the immune system https://aacrjournals.org/clincancerres/article/30/17/3715/747277/Safety-Efficacy-and-Biological-Data-of-T-Cell

Continued Journey
I’m at day +72 from my BMT. On day +70 on had labs and met with the medical team. Some of my concerns with weight loss and declining platelets were considered. I had finally regained some weight 3lbs. This was an indication the steroid budesonide was beginning to help food absorption of nutrients.

Cogan's syndrome
Hello! Does anyone here have Cogan's syndrome? I was diagnosed last year. My symptoms started straight after my second COVID vaccine and worsened after my 3rd. I'm on Mycophenolate but think I'm becoming less tolerant to it. I feel sedated weak and nauseous. Has anyone else had this?

PSA MYTHS AND FACTS.
I’m putting this subject out here for anyone who wants to share some myths and facts about our biggest testing indicator PSA. I’ll start. The clinic accidentally took two psa tests from me within an hour of each other. The first one read: 11.814 Second one read: 11. 327 (I found this interesting

IBSA USA debuts three new dietary supplements - FilmTec B12.
Having produced Tirosint and Tirosint SOL levothyroxine (under their various names - brands and re-branded), IBSA appear to see supplements as a money-spinner. I'm just putting this here for information - hopefully at some point we will find out more. Like whether there is some basis for their absorption

Conflicting fibroscan and ultrasound results
Hello allA few months ago I had a fibroscan, following a series of raised blood test levels. It took over 2 months to get the result but when it came, it was 49.8 (with suboptimal parameters). My ribs are close together and my liver is placed higher in my abdomen than usual. I was advised that the result

Study Solves Testosterone’s Paradoxical Effects in Prostate Cancer, Duke Health, Published September 04, 2024
This research appears to be a major breakthrough in our understanding of PCa's development and progression. It is also new evidence that further validates Dr. Abraham Morgantaler's testosterone "Saturation Model" and the underlying principles that make BAT effective. There is much in the Nature Communications

Medicare Denial of PSa Test
Imagine my surprise when a recent Medicare statement showed they denied coverage for a PSa test, stating that it hadn't been a year since the last one. I've never seen this before., And I didn't pay since it was a denied coverage, Quest had to eat the cost - it's as if Quest did something wrong. I

BAT - Testosterone Solved?
https://corporate.dukehealth.org/news/study-solves-testosterones-paradoxical-effects-prostate-cancer Looks like a really interesting study, and implies that reducing T during early cancer stages is a good thing, but it may not be a good thing in advanced PCa later - and actually, increasing T (high

Light & Sound reduce Amyloid Plaques
The pulses of light and sound, delivered at a frequency of 40 per second, or 40 hertz, jumpstarted the mice’s neurons to fire electrical signals in time with the pulses—and subsequently reduced the number of amyloid plaques and tau protein tangles in their brains, two hallmarks of Alzheimer’s disease

Kidney Cysts?
I’m so pleased I went to Guys for referral. Not only did they spot low iron, which despite having three monthly bloods my local Haematology dept failed to spot, also Guys asked for an ultra sound on my Abdomen. The results came back today indicating that I had a cyst on my Kidney, and that it was not
