Blood test positive lupus
Hi Deb, welcome to the forum. Try not nit to worry we've all been there I know it can be frustrating hopefully you'll get to see a Dermatologist soon and they will look after you. You can get sunscreen on prescription but your Dermatologist will look after you. Let us know how you get on😊
Hi,
Sorry to hear about your recent lupus diagnosis.
As many will say, “We’ve all been here!” but only a few precious lupus sufferers will understand the blood test results. They are complex indeed and many of us have had some dreadful, non specialist, gaslighting GP consultations (myself included) 🙄🥹
Here are some useful lupus test results explanations from the Lupus Foundation of America.
Difficult reading IDK but most important to understand these things:

Specifically on ANA detection and ratios below is a good read:

Regards
Ps apologies if I sound patronising but hopefully your journey to proper diagnosis will not be too fraught with delays so that treatment can start optimally for you ?
hi,could u tell me what bloods u had done please😁
Figure 1 in this Cureus paper, on right side, lists blood tests.
Under this figure it says some cases will be missed and discusses briefly the case of sero-negative ANA.
Annoying advertisements appear as you scroll, so scroll with care. I found them very irritating, whilst trying to reaud a paper that was so interesting.

Table 2, in the right column, lists other significient checks that are missed by the 2019 Classification criteria.
