I have had long covid for over 2 years. In March I had my 3rd bout. My gp sent me for routine bloods. My GGT was 3x the upper range and ALP raised too. Liver ultrasound was clear and over next 3 months GGT improved a little but nowhere near to normal. Recently breathing worsening among many other symptoms so GP repeated bloods. GGT and ALP up high again. Referred to gastro/liver team. No jaundice or other liver related symptoms. I’m not overweight but have high cholesterol, despite eating healthily.. I don’t drink, other than an occasional glass of fizz at Christmas or birthdays. Am I alone in this?

Hi, I’m not in the same boat but I know that Covid can affect lots of different organs. Our local hospital has a Long Covid clinic which GPs can refer patients to. It might be worth making enquiries locally. The My Covid Recovery website is used by our local NHS and has excellent resources.
Hopefully you’ll get seen by a liver specialist when your gastro referral comes through. The clear ultrasound is a good sign though that if it is a liver problem they’ve found it early before any damage is done and there are treatments now. I hope you get some answers and start to improve soon.
