Palliative Care
B became comatose and slept for three days.I rang our Hospice Community nurse and she recommended a full
palliative
care
assessment. B. is now in a
palliative
care
unit at the hospital. Could his sleepiness be due to previous lack of food and medication or PSP?

Palliative care
Am I the only one under
palliative
care
here? I think I'm going to go mad. It's on my mind since yesterday when I met with the team. Why do they want me to go see Milford , ( hospice ) Not sleeping again my mind is racing.

Good results with LCHF
Some 3 months ago, when I had a debilitating viral fever, my health check up showed pre-diabetes. Doc asked me to start metformin, but in addition I continued with LCHF diet , though not strictly. Then I went for another check-up 2 days ago and the lab tests showed the following results (Sept. figures

Severe dementia and aspiration bronchial pneumonia
They are giving the antibiotics one more go this will be the third...if they dont work this time
palliative
care
will commence. We have been told he cant go back to the nursing home yet as he is too frail and they said the last thing they want is for him to slip away in the ambulance.

So-called 'Palliative Care' is not all it's cracked up to be.
I have a few months to live as I have leukaemia, and now that I've learnt there is no such thing as
palliative
care
in my case, needless to say I will be making my own arrangements when the pain from leukaemia starts to make itself known to me. Regards Herbert

LCHF and protein drinks?
Are they compatible? I am not planning using the drinks for sports or body-building but simply as a convenient source of protein while trying to get into a fuller LCHF diet. Except eggs, fish and occasionally bacon I am averse to other non-veg stuff, including chicken.

Any similar experiences out there
They are not doing anything on his lung until his performance status has improved...but if he can get up to a 0 or 1, they will offer Keytruda as a first line treatment...if not up to that in six weeks, standard chemo as

CHC Fast track - not so fast...
We were promised hospice
care
for dad, whilst mum recovered, but that fell through because
palliative
care
didn't think he was due to die imminently (have really pushed for hospice and at the consultant, but this didn't work).
