Totally confused
I can't decide whether to just give in now and go for
palliative
care
(though I'm told the neuroendocrine cancer is aggressive) or whether to go with the chemo they've suggested, even though they and I are not sure its the right treatment and even less sure of any possible success or outcome.

HEALTH: A hearty helping of the right fats
Read a very interesting true story. "‘People should know there is no convincing evidence for the NHS guidelines,’ says Lynda. I have seen the huge benefits of the low-carb, high-fat approach Read more." http://www.dailymail.co.uk/home/you/article-5687511/HEALTH-hearty-helping-right-fats.html

Article from the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center and Cornell Medical College about multi-modal treatment of advanced disease.
This pilot study may be of interest to most of us since it shows that even with distant metastasis patients can achieve a PSA of 0 (non evidence of disease) if a multi-modal treatment is used. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC5468169/ ------------------------ A Pilot Study of a Multimodal

New here: Anyone have experience with Platinum Refractory Epithelial Ovarian IIIC cancer?
We've been told her
care
is only
palliative
and she can have anywhere from 6 months to 5 years to live (if she responds to next line of less aggressive chemo, topetecan). We are devastated. Since her CA 125 levels never responded we are terrified what the future may hold.

Caelyx not worked
Imagine my surprise when I was only offered best
palliative
care
. I asked for letrozole and (I paraphrase) was told well you could do it is well tolerated. You might as well take it as not. We will try and keep you out of hospital for as long as possible.

Life can be an arse...
Palliative
care
was the watch word of the day. That seems to be the approach they are heading towards. I’m not one to roll over for anyone or anything. I’m not putting my hands up or waving a white flag.

Feeling Deflated
He recommended that I begin to think of
palliative
care
and getting it set up and in place for when I feel it is time. I know from a nursing stand point when doctors are speaking of these preparations it’s because it’s coming soon.

Wonderful NHS
Since my return home I have been checked on by the
Palliative
Care
Team (Home visit), phoned by district nurse and my GP who offered to visit me at home. I feel so lucky to live in this country and this specific part of the country I could not have asked for better care over the last 10 days.

Up Late
Though there may be a clinical trial that could slow down the inevitable we know that hope and time are dwindling In many ways we are lucky, we are a very close family and we have been spending time together taking a large group trip last summer to spend time together our great

What to do?
After being in hospital,-
Palliative
Care
for weeks, B is now in a wonderful nursing home. Twice, he has struggled to keep going, once, my son and I stayed overnight, as we thought he would not survive until the morning. The care and nursing that he received pulled B. through.

How to begin Long Wheat Grain Diet (LWMDR) the 1st time...
Dear members, I have one quick question : When starting consumption of LWMDR for the 1st time is surely going to increase the PPBS so how to deal with that part. What should I do if PPBS level hits high like +200 is that OK or what and will it come down by itself and/or for how many days will it remain

A few helpful thoughts
Consider bringing hospice in sooner rather than later, especially if they offer
palliative
care
in your area. They aren’t just for people who are actively dying! Mike started getting hospice services when he was still going to work every day, and was with them for nearly two years.

ESA assessment worries
Up until last March, I was a full-time
palliative

nurse, but have had to take early retirement, as my hands and wrists are so badly affected.
